Buin Zoo — Attraction in Buin

To be honest, this is beyond of what I have expected. The place is well organized, the staff is very kind, and they take care of details. I thought it was going to be a short experience, but no, my family and I expent the whole day walking and visiting all stands and acts. The food is just average(some expensive and others cheaps) perhaps you might take your own meal (as we did) and have your picnic on the place. Also, I think it was because of the weather (very hot), almost all animal were takkng a rest (I will visit again during autumn). Here it is possible watch closely huge variety of species and the most important, is that during the shows they explain very clear as a school the knowledge we must get from the animal that are living in the zoo. The only one negative observation, it was the small pool for kids (dry square) they should use a water pump plus filtering system, because kids, even though the take the shower before and after, the pool will collect all...

Wide variety of species in a tight space. It's a nice principle to give a home to animals that have been saved from circuses and unlawful treatment. Compared to other zoos we've visited in other countries/continents, it smells like feaces and urine and animals like the big cats are kept in small enclosures. The animals looked healthy at the time of our visit. It appears that there are lots of staff hanging around just checking their phones or having a good time chatting among themselves. Ticket price appears fair for the time we spent there. The extra ticket for the marine show appears excessive. The show is funny but a tad too long at the end. The souvenir shop could diversify and benefit from selling more than stuff toys and bags. For example, educational stuff like posters, books, puzzles, pencil cases and sponsorships...

Nuestra visita al Bioparque, tuvo sus altibajos. Lo bueno: El sector de mariposas fue verdaderamente mágico. Verlas volar tan cerca, con sus hermosos colores y gran tamaño, y sentir la réplica del ambiente de la selva, húmedo y caluroso, fue una experiencia a otro nivel. También nos encantó el panda rojo, es demasiado tierno. Las jirafas son hermosas y los rinocerontes, impresionantes. Además, apreciamos la variedad de especies y la interactividad que ofrece el parque en algunas de sus exhibiciones, donde se nota el esfuerzo por crear hábitats que buscan replicar el entorno natural de los animales. Lo malo: Sin embargo, varios aspectos empañaron la visita. La limpieza en general dejaba mucho que desear, especialmente los vidrios de los recintos de los animales, que estaban sucios por dentro y dificultaban la visibilidad. Esto fue particularmente notorio en los hábitats de reptiles y arañas. Además, notamos una ausencia notable de animales que esperábamos ver, ya que no pudimos encontrar al tigre de Bengala, Charly, ni tampoco vimos pumas, lémures, focas ni nutrias. Creemos que podrían mejorar la configuración del lugar de los animalitos para facilitar la vista a los visitantes. La señalización fue particularmente deficiente. Muchos de los letreros de los animales en exhibición estaban rotos o incompletos. Incluso, encontramos uno tan deteriorado que parecía un basurero, y la gente, aprovechando su estado, lo usó como tal. Esta falta de información clara y el estado de los letreros dificultaron la orientación y la comprensión de lo que estábamos viendo. Los precios de la comida y bebida dentro del parque nos parecieron altos y los restaurantes que habian no estaban todos abiertos por lonque losnque quedaron colapsaron con los clientes, compramos cafe y chocolate caliente y no quedaban tapas para tapar los vasos. En resumen, el Bioparque tiene un gran potencial, con puntos fuertes como el mariposario y ciertos animales impresionantes. No obstante, necesita mejorar significativamente en aspectos como la limpieza de los recintos, el mantenimiento y claridad de la señalización y la exhibición de animales esperados para ofrecer una experiencia más...
