Termas Valle de Colina — Attraction in San José de Maipo

Very unwelcome experience from the business owner here. Very rude and inconsiderate. Fairly ridiculous.

Firstly this place is an absolute hell-hole to get to. You have to make your way through some of the worst and most dangerous roads to get here, fraught with sheer cliffs, falling rocks, loose dirt roads, unstable bridges and boulders. It is an absolute challenge to get here, even if the views are quite great.

We made a mistake in that after arriving to this place I realised that we had run out of physical cash pesos. It was reasonable that in this location, the guy did not have a working credit card machine... We then asked the guy at the gate here if we could pay him in another currency, such as my Aus dollars, and pay him much more extra to make it work his while. He simply said no, and went back to his hut.

We then asked a couple of passer bys. One of them actually agreed to this simple request, understanding that we had come from literally the other side of the world to this remote location. However, the guy from the hut actually asked her to not help us... wow.

We returned around and returned back, all the way down the mountain.

The scenery was great.

The unwelcome coldness not so much. We understand it was our mistake not having the cash on hand. But this level of unwelcomeness is probably the worst tourist experience I've ever had, close second only to the credit card scam we had less than 12 hours before this in Santiago by a cab driver.

This would never happen in Brazil, for example. They would never just turn you back like this... for not having 20,000clp in cash on you.

There are much better thermal pools than this. We will not be returning to this place. Or likely...

This place is open 24 hours 365 days a year... It's a quiet a long drive about from Santiago but totally worth it... We visited during March and I guess it would be great during winter season too... During the day when it's hot outside you can barely stay in especially In the first pool receiving the hit water... The water gets cooler as you go down to the second, third and so on pools... I recommend you start from lowest pool and move up so your body gets gradually used to the increasing water temperature... We stayed till early evening and that's when it became more enjoyable... You can camo there if you have your tent but ensure that you have lots of food and beverage and have your car filled up with fuel as there is nothing around where you can buy stuff... Entrance is 8000 Chillian pesos per person. The shower and toilet area needs some attention and fixing... No toilet paper, soap or shampoo so you better have your own with you and hey be ready for the super freezing cold shower after finishing from the pools... My skin went numb hehehe but it was a great experience all in all and an enjoyable day... I would have stayed longer in the pools untill the stars became clear up in the sky... But the group was tired so we left, but we stopped for star watching on the way.. switched off the lights and just stared at the stars.. few pics with my phone and one last pic with a professional camera... The view...

Me impresiona ver la cantidad de comentarios positivos. Comenzaré contando mi experiencia espero que a alguien le sirva, escribiré desde la sinceridad. Fui este fin de semana 15/16 de febrero. El camino al llegar estaba bastante malo con hartos hoyos y desniveles, igual vi hartos autos bajitos. Al llegar te atienden unos hombres con cara de pocos amigos y poco aseados y cobran 10mil las 4 hrs o 15mil las 24 hrs (PRECIOS POR PERSONA) Considero un cobro excesivo para el servicio paupérrimo que ofrecen, deben pagar con efectivo y guardar la boleta porque la piden al salir. Primero que todo, nada que decir acerca del paisaje y alrededores, simplemente hermoso pero porqué es así el cajón del maipo, las montañas impresionantes con una belleza única. Continuo con los sitios de camping: son literal un gran sitio donde te instalas con tu vehículo y tu carpa (LEJOS DE LOS BAÑOS), vi unas especies de "lavaplatos" sin techo, a todo sol, sin luz, nisiquiera sé si salía agua de ahí. Puedes subir en el vehículo a un sector alto tipo "estacionamiento" (no se puede acampar ahi) que te queda cerca de los baños y de los pozones, considerar el camino de tierra horrendo!! Hay un camino peatonal desde el sector camping a los pozones, liso, empinado y sin escaleras, con una baranda con suerte. Llegas a los pozones, sin mantención, con tubos de pvc a la vista, sacos de tierra con los que demarcan el pozon que están entre medios abiertos con tierra, entre las termas algunas conexiones lisas resbalosas y otras con pseudo escaleras con un pedazo de madera y listo.. para ingresar a los pozones hay desniveles muy marcados y uno de los pozones tiene una escalera que el primer escalón esta tan arriba que tienes que subir tipo "dos escalones juntos", mi pregunta es: como ingresan las personas mayores o con movilidad reducida? cero inclusivo. Vamos por el baño: definitivamente un asco. Pregunta seria: con el precio excesivo que cobran, mínimo tener baños con pestillos. NI ESO, no me quiero ni imaginar a la pobre Dua Lipa usando esos baños. Cochinos, todos mojados, sin agua caliente (importante mencionar), una ducha tamaño familiar donde se bañan 4 personas a la vez y que solo abres una llave y se dispersa el agua por un tubo de pvc ordinario. Baño sin confort y sin jabón, no tienes espejo tampoco y el lava manos tapado y lleno de pelos. El vestidor viene siendo el mismo baño con dos bancas a cada lado y una alfombra en medio, mojada y llena de pelos. Por la noche no hay luz en la zona de las termas, o sea me imagino caminar por esos pasillos resbalosos y lisos y sin luz.. como dato no son tan caras las luces solares, por que entiendo que no tienen como instalar luz, pero los focos solares apañan, vi harta gente alumbrando con linternas del celular por que como mencioné anteriormente, los caminos están malos y tienen desniveles entre las termas y en las termas propiamente tal. Cabe mencionar que no hay nada cerca para comprar, solo un negocio con lo básico. En resumen, les falta DEMASIAAAAADA mantención y ni se arrugan para cobrar semejante valor que ni se aprecia en las instalaciones. Que terrible ver como llegan y llegan transfers con turistas chilenos y extranjeros a un lugar tan turistico con un paisaje único y con tanto potencial, en esas condiciones tan deplorables. Un asco, no volvería a ir y NO lo recomiendo.

PD. pongan pestillos en los baños, son baratos. Le doy dos estrellas solo por que el paisaje es impresionante pero eso no tiene nada que ver con las...
