$13 for the ticket- worth every coin. 10/10 experience. Bird park - must go. So cute. Bring with you sunscreen and lots of water.
Spent the day at Parque Tricao and I have to say, it was absolutely worth it. Everything felt peaceful and well-organized, and the surroundings were just stunning.
The highlight, of course, is the aviaryâ and wow, itâs huge! Itâs actually the biggest aviary in South America, and you can definitely feel that when youâre walking through it. There are so many different species of birds flying around, all colorful and beautiful, and it feels like youâre stepping into their world. The pathways inside are super fun to explore, especially the hanging bridge 52 meters long, by the way!) that gives you the best views of the entire area.
Apart from the aviary, the park itself is massive with tons of things to do. There are well-marked hiking trails, everything feels so calm and fresh.
Thereâs a restaurant inside the park, but If youâre planning to eat there, just be ready to spend a bit more than usual. And donât make the same mistake I did âbring your own water. I forgot and ended up paying 2,500 CLP for every tiny 500ml bottle.
Pack your own snacks and drinks if you want to avoid spending too much.
One thing you shouldnât miss is the kayaking. It starts at 2:00 PM. Being out on the water, surrounded by nature, was such a fun
10/10 for me. Definitely a place Iâd recommend to anyone who loves nature or just wants a...
Read moreTricao Park is a beautiful place, divided into three areas: an aviary, a wetland, and a botanical garden. It has several picnic areas, a restaurant, and a lagoon that can be crossed via the surrounding paths or on a raft. I have no complaints about the park and its staff, but one thing that caught my attention was the price of the ticket for the poor attention to detail: 1. Restrooms with bins overflowing with dirty paper (they're only emptied in the morning) and too small for the number of visitors. 2. Few restrooms. The day I went with my family, in each restroom area, only one of two women's restrooms was in use. The men's restrooms were closed, and there were no bathrooms for people with disabilities. There is the space and the conditions for this place to be 100% wonderful, but there is a lack of rotating staff in the services (or the wastebaskets could be larger and there would be no problems with dirty papers and hygiene that make the...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing park about 1-1/2 hours from Viña. Parque Tricao is a hidden valley that preserves a small lake for local birds and plants. Great hiking available all around the shores of the lake, the paths are very well maintained and the flowers abundant. There's a play area for kids and lots of tables for picnics. There is a restaurant, called "Nativa" that had very good food. Gluten free diners could get a sandwich (carne mechada or chicken) without the bun and be more than satisfied. At one end of the park there's a wetland, part of which is set aside for special birds like black-necked swans and ducks. I even saw a mink-like animal swimming in the water! The other part is a beautifully landscaped homage to Monet's Giverny paintings. We will definitely be going...
