Ni Hao Ma!
Hao.
Je suis non parle francais. Parle vous anglais? I am Dhruv Rajashekaran from India and once from Tateyama. So, I visited Beijing, from Mumbai (nee Bombay, or still), in the year 2001-2 A.D anni, with family, nucleus, and we stayed in a Hotel of Communism, with view.
The view was of a square. I saw for a few hours, the cycles, the motorbikes, the smoke, the magic, the power, of Beijing. I don't remember which Hotel, but I recommend now, I am sure, since the Olympics, with Japanese nous, and Chinese policy, it is refurbished humanely and looks beautiful. It was like a strong, and fearsome structure. Far scarier, than the Great Wall at Badaling ;*)
We ate the continental breakfast, and the Congee, and we are not the usual Indian, then, 20 years ago, because we are Nous Avons, now, Nous Somme, les famile obliteraire, en obiturie...etc. RIP.
We took bus to Badaling, and witness, the magic, before watching the Kung Fu Panda, or the Mulan movie. Remember, the time? 20 years ago. I see some Jackie Chan movies, and High upon High, Armour of God. So I run on Great Wall. It was one of the most brilliant experiences of my childhood. I don't know, if I was Hun, or Chinese. Or just, a nina.
I am no Kublai, je suis non kublai, avec, daisuki le mangiare Chinois. Tonight I have Hakka Noodles, Chowmein, and Potato in Honey Chili. On the way back from Badaling, on our bus tour, we stop at Restobar, with Smoking. I have vinegar potato, and scallion, and bean curd, with rice, and beans, and we are so savvy, in a time before time. Eh, que pasa? Le familie, vegetarian.
Parlata, recevara. But yes, some have strict measures but we encourage compromises from Indian and Pakistani tourers, and Bangla, and others from South Asia, and Jain. To travel, it is needed. Bom dia.
In the evening, we see, not much, but we rest in Hotel. Maybe my father, have some enquiry.
Beijing of now, we see on Television. China, on social media. The triumph! May we mark. In honour. Thank you for supporting en le India, Japon, en le France, les England and United Kingdom and etc.
Arigatogozaimasu.
Shishye Hao!

Read moreI know what you are thinking- become a hero travel to the great wall, and imagine yourself looking out among the remote beauty of the Great Wall of China. Unfortunately, even in the slower seasons, this section of the Great Wall is a terrible tourist trap and disrespectful toward the history of one of the world's greatest relics. Firstly, armies of people travel here, and so if you come at an unlucky hour, your hike will be shoulder to shoulder (just like sardines) up and down amongst people screaming at eachother, hocking loogies off the wall, getting pestered by police monitoring crowds, pulling stollers up and down the hills, stopping mid-climb in the middle of the wall to talk with their buddy, sitting on the steps and generally getting in anyone's way trying to enjoy the beautiful history of China. There were people literally hiking up and down who never took their eyes off their phone. Wut? Second, if you are physically unable or older and not as fit, this hike is rough and will leave you exhausted, especially on a hot day. I do not recommend committing yourself to walking the entire southern section unless you plan accordingly. Third, when you ge tto the bottom you and all the other tourists are funneled through a mile+ of shop owners and beggars attempting to sell you a variety of goods and take advantage of the demand for people to visit here. I honestly found it quite gross. Please if you have a choice and have not booked, go to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall- you will certainly have a more enjoyable experience. The romanticism around the Great Wall of China has been completely...
Read moreI get to Badaling by highspeed train. Indeed, this solution is very conveninent. Only 20_30 minutes by train from Beijing North train station or from Qinghe Train station (but you have to come to Train station to buy ticket directly, no only purchase. You should buy a little bit in advance to secure your seat cause many tourists). When you get our of Badaling station, you see a parking for big buses along a hill. Up of Hill is Cable Cars, Down of Hill is Ground Cars (its a cable cars as well, but for 40_50 people by cable). For tickets, its a separated tickets of 2 entry (entry of great wall and entry of cable-ground cars) you can purchase directly in the ticket offices, so no need to book in advance (like KLook, its very difficult to exchange the e-confirmation to physical ticket, nobody speaks english). For cable cars, it could suspend when there is windy (not stable journey of cars). Great wall is pretty amazing as you already know. But there are many winds as well, so if temparature is low, you should bring extra clothes. There are almost no restaurant out of cable stations, prepare some food and drinks. For my experience, it is very crowded in the morning till noon (many local tourist comes by group with big buses), so it could be smart if you visit it after 1pm. Indeed, its not as complicated as Beijing tourist points where you...
