位于福州鼓楼区北隅、屏山南麓，福建省人民政府东侧。北宋乾德二年（964年），吴越国王钱氏割据时，福州郡守为祈求国境安宁而建，初名“越山吉祥禅院”。 华林寺历经几多春秋，仅存大殿，后增建山门、左右配殿和廊庑。大殿为抬梁式构架，单檐九脊顶，高15.5米,面积574平方米。大殿有18根木柱，柱子以上全由斗拱支撑，不用一根铁钉。其建造手法在全国唐宋木构建筑中独具一格，对日本镰仓时期（12世纪末）的“大佛样”、“天丝样”建筑风格影响颇大。...
