Lotus Hill ancient quarry — Attraction in Guangzhou City

Another great day out exploring Guangzhou and its hinterland, this time we had a walk around an old ancient quarry in Lotus hill.

Very well signposted, and very relaxing to walk around all the sights, and believe me there was so much to take in..... the lakes, the abandoned and hallowed out quarries, the pagoda, the Buddhist statute towering in the sky and its nearby monastery and temple, the Lotus wall, the bee hive garden (with tasty honey cakes on offer), the Eagle Tunnel, the Lotus ancient wall and much more..... it really took all day to see everything and even then we probably missed something! But was easy to keep to the path and directions were plain and simple to follow. Also as the place is so spacious it was not so crowded and on occasion you might be the only people on certain paths - which is unusual in China!

I cant say I had a favourite for the day as all the sights had their own unique experience and I enjoyed each and every one of them.
