🦦📝🔆 IG: foodiea.jami 📸 ————————————————— Please follow my Instagram account if you enjoy my words. I went this beach last Sunday. This is my first time to go to this beach. I am so excited to go there. Last Sunday was really hot in Hong Kong and I am looking forward to go there. I take the minibus to go from shau kei wan. The line up of the minibus is not quite long, I took around 15 mins to line up. 🚌 From shau kei wan to shek O beach, it takes around 15mins to go. It’s very convenience. I arrive there around 11am in the morning time. The beach is not that full when I arrive. And I can feel the sea breeze are very nice. The nature environment is good and people are discipline. Not quite much people but lively. And there are some shop here, so you do not have to worry about your tummy. 😎😎 And you can buy drink, snack, swimming equipment etc. No need to bring much thing here. For the sun umbrella and the chair, I paid $150 to rent for it. 😍 All you need to bring is yourself !!!! I love this beach and I stay for 5 hours to enjoy my holiday. But I turned black skin now. Haha. Nvm, I would like to revisit this beach for sure by the end of summer in Hong Kong. 🦦🦦📸🔆 Recommend🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Clearly a place to go with family and friends, though once i have been here solo and i truly enjoyed it. But it depends on you. Last tike i explored it alone, took an MTR got down at shou ki wan, took exit A and took bus number 9. Once i got off at shek o village i explored rocky bay beach which is secluded, peaceful a little not so clean beach. But i enjoyed to seat and click some pictures. Then walked through the village and found out its very beautiful place. Well maintained houses, its doors, plants, colors, grills, galleries, scuba suit, bicycles were so nice. It captured my attention and surely i felt i should have a house like that.this is the beauty of exploration. After that went to main and famous beach shek O beach. Crowded but fun. There are barbecue sites here. Make sure you get here quickly in the morning to grab a place or else it gets full on weekends.2nd visit was with family on such barbecue mission. But was a really hot day. After eating it was time for swimming in big waves. Everyone got tan and sun burns but ☺☺.

That was amazing moment at this time the weather just fit,it is not very hot and not too cool just nice to stay there having a BBQ or HOT POT. The route from Shau Kei Wan MTR Station Exit A2 we took Mini bus just there to Sheik O beach the fare is $12 make sure have a small change with you cos the mini bus THERE IS NO OCTOPUS CARD. It's mean pay Cash after get off the bus. Beside taking a minibus also could take the CITY BUS number 9 just opposite before the station exit A2. For the express better take a minibus because straigt not many passenger and not many statioin have to drop them. So..... Have a nice try then when going back the trip also much easier to get the mini bus just front off the beach area the car park 😊😊😊

As someone who grew up by the Caribbean, I have very high standards for beaches and I can say Shek O Beach really impressed me. It's a lovely beach with soft, white sand, clear water, and very clean. The prices for the chairs and umbrella vary, we paid HK$200 for an umbrella and 2 chairs but then noticed a cafe with cheaper prices, so you may want to shop around. Good facilities near the beach including bathrooms and showers and restaurants nearby (although we found some of these eateries quite expensive).

Shek O Beach is a great getaway for the day if you want to go see the ocean, swim, and get away from the hustle bustle of Hong Kong. It's free to go, but you might want to rent a shade umbrella and a chair if you don't bring some. They have free showers and restrooms, some little restaurants very near, and some souvenir trinket shops. You can easily get a bus from the city and transfer to the beach. It takes about 2 hours total. Just use Google maps and have a great time at the beach!

We visited on a Monday so it was uncrowded. Lots of little shops and restaurants in the village right by the beach. We had lunch at a local eatery then headed for the sand. Paid HK120 for 2 beach chairs and an umbrella. Probably could have bargained as the beach was not busy. The nice ladies who greet you at the beach will sell you the chairs and set everything up for you. The water was clean and clear. Soft sand as far out as you can walk. Recommended.
