Shek O Beach, cradled on the southeastern coast of Hong Kong Island, is a haven of natural beauty and coastal serenity. This crescent-shaped sandy stretch is renowned for its inviting azure waters, golden sands, and a laid-back atmosphere that beckons both locals and visitors seeking an escape from the urban bustle.

Fringed by lush green hills, Shek O Beach presents a stunning backdrop for seaside leisure. The clear and calm waters make it an ideal destination for swimming, paddleboarding, and other water activities. The beach's relaxed vibe extends to its colorful collection of beachfront cafes and seafood restaurants, offering a perfect setting to enjoy a meal with panoramic views of the South China Sea.

Shek O Beach is not only a sun-soaked retreat but also a hub for water sports enthusiasts. Surfing is particularly popular here, with the occasional big waves attracting surfers looking for an exhilarating ride. Surf schools along the shoreline cater to both beginners and seasoned surfers, contributing to the beach's dynamic and adventurous spirit.

Beyond its recreational offerings, Shek O Beach is an integral part of the local community, hosting events, festivals, and vibrant gatherings. I went this beach last Sunday. This is my first time to go to this beach. I am so excited to go there. Last Sunday was really hot in Hong Kong and I am looking forward to go there.

I take the minibus to go from shau kei wan. The line up of the minibus is not quite long, I took around 15 mins to line up. 🚌

From shau kei wan to shek O beach, it takes around 15mins to go. It’s very convenience.

I arrive there around 11am in the morning time. The beach is not that full when I arrive. And I can feel the sea breeze are very nice.

The nature environment is good and people are discipline. Not quite much people but lively. And there are some shop here, so you do not have to worry about your tummy. 😎😎

And you can buy drink, snack, swimming equipment etc. No need to bring much thing here. For the sun umbrella and the chair, I paid $150 to rent for it. 😍

All you need to bring is yourself !!!!

I love this beach and I stay for 5 hours to enjoy my holiday. But I turned black skin now. Haha. Nvm, I would like to revisit this beach for sure by the end of summer in Hong Kong....

Clearly a place to go with family and friends, though once i have been here solo and i truly enjoyed it. But it depends on you. Last tike i explored it alone, took an MTR got down at shou ki wan, took exit A and took bus number 9. Once i got off at shek o village i explored rocky bay beach which is secluded, peaceful a little not so clean beach. But i enjoyed to seat and click some pictures. Then walked through the village and found out its very beautiful place. Well maintained houses, its doors, plants, colors, grills, galleries, scuba suit, bicycles were so nice. It captured my attention and surely i felt i should have a house like that.this is the beauty of exploration. After that went to main and famous beach shek O beach. Crowded but fun. There are barbecue sites here. Make sure you get here quickly in the morning to grab a place or else it gets full on weekends.2nd visit was with family on such barbecue mission. But was a really hot day. After eating it was time for swimming in big waves. Everyone got tan and sun...

Kids enjoyed the beach. Sand was clean. Great Views. We took the mini bus back to the MTR station - it was nicely close to sunset and the views were great along the journey back!
