One of two gates westward into the Silk Road. Along the same route as the western 1000 Buddha caves. People go to the west through the jade gate and come back to China through this one. You pay for a ticket in, a bus ride and a guide. All in for 2 people it was 170 rmb. Guide (Chinese) gave good information. Only one ancient tower left. The view from there is magnificent. One can realize why ancient people chose that site and how difficult it was for travellers back then.
