Honestly I don't see the hype around Badaguan even after visiting. This place is more for people who like to snap pictures of somewhat European style buildings (if you've never seen them elsewhere). But you need to pay an entrance fee for every building you want to go into, otherwise you barely anything from the outside - this didn't appeal to me as there are hordes of Chinese tourists lining up for photos. Perhaps it's nicer in Autumn when the maple and ginger trees lining the streets turn colourful, but don't recommend going in Summer where there's nothing to see if you don't want to pay to go in.
The only good part is that it's within walkable distance, and the stretch from the 1st Bathing to 2nd Bathing Beach does have pretty good views of the coast and sea. It's more worth to walk and enjoy the sea views than come here to see not-very-impressive replicas of European style buildings with crowds...
