The Shantou history museum is nice, but quite small and information is only provided in chinese language. The ground floor shows information boards about sights and places in the city and their history. In the second floor, you can find a collection of everyday life objects of old Shantou. Gives you an idea how life was in the old times. I also recommend a stroll in the area around the museum. Most buildings are very broken or abandoned, but they are built in the colonial style and swing in the atmosphere of the old Shantou...
