Not sure why there is a hotel recommendation. But Dongzha Wuzhen is a scenic area by itself not hotel.
Anyway, there are two part to Wuzhen Dong Zha. and Xi Zha. Dong Zha more of a cultural and historical walk. Said that they are the only original living there. Very clean and well organised. Ticket to enter some of the museums. Even the textile place is just for people to take photos.
Overall, I would say it quite a nice walk only about 2.5-3km walk from entrance to exit. I joined the tour so it was nice coz’ she explained it without explaining you learning nothing and just feel empty walking...
Read moreAs much as I loved wuzhen xizha, dongzha is definitely a less commercialized and quieter version of xizha. Make sure to get the combo admission for both sides because it is cheaper, and you would definitely want to check out both sides. The old houses with residents actually residing here makes it feel a lot more homey and authentic. It was less crowded than xizha, and a lot of places to take beautiful photos! It took about 3 hours for me to go around.
