We went up by via crucis and down via el sendero de los aguacates - el sendero de los perdidos. It would probably be easier the other way around 😅 The view is amazing! Pack water (& picknick) cause there's nothing to be found on the way. The path along via crucis is well maintained and it's quite clear how to get to the top. On our way back we were actually planning to get to the road to get a mototaxi for my mother-in-law, but somehow we ended up walking the whole way along El sendero de los aguacates 😅 I wouldn't recommend it with elderly (we all fell once) but for our kids (4&9, baby in baby carrier) it was quite the adventure. This path is not as well maintained as the other one though, so be sure to wear appropriate shoes and a walking stick (or branch 😅) comes in handy. The views of Cerro Tusa, Cerro Bravo, Rio Cauca, Jericó town, and all of Southwest Antioquia are fantastic, even better than from the top of other nearby mountains like Cerro Tusa.

Our friend Jorge, who owns Las Cometas Hostel in town, recommends coming up for the sunsets. He says they're out of this world.

Otherwise, I'd recommend doing a loop hike up the hill, along the ridge, then back down "Los Aguacates." It takes 2-3 ours.

Simplemente sensacional.
