Archaeological Museum Suamox — Attraction in Boyacá

Excellently maintained museum complex in the heart of the Sugamuxi casique. The place of the sun god, the ancient temple and history are complemented by the excellent collection in the musuem. Instead of being a self tour, I would have appreciated a guided tour. Some of the artefacts must have stories behind them and it is easier to go with the stories in a guided tour. Other wise, the place has an aura with a flavor of history that is going to be in the memory for a long time. Car parking facility inside the complex will be a welcome move. BEWARE TRAVELLERS! They have an increased price for foreigners, but none of the information is available in English or any other language besides Spanish. The collection is very limited and none of the items have either the date or the time period it belongs to in the description. There are a few interesting items like an Andean mummy, some atlatls and (replica) Muisca houses. I just wish I could learn more about them. We wanted to buy a book, but again they don't have...

Es un sitio bastante amplio, muy bonitos y se ve que cuidan los diferentes lugares. El personal que labora muy amable, la explicación en los dos sitios con palabras sencillas, nos cuentan la historia del Museo y del precursor. El punto negro del Museo son los baños porque no tienen papel higiénico, jabón líquido para el aseo de las manos y toallas para el secado Al comentar esta inquietud a la persona encargada del funcionamiento del aseo, dice que es una inquietud expresada por varios visitantes, pero no hay solución rápida, pese a que debemos cumplir con medidas de bioseguridad por el alto índice del contagio de la nueva cepa. Creo que estos elementos son necesarios para el usuario, en cualquier época del año porque es un lugar turístico.
