An unforgettable coffee experience at Finca Entre Bosques! ☕️🌿
As Pedaling Coffee, we always seek out the best experiences for our clients, and the coffee tour at Finca Entre Bosques exceeded all our expectations.
Our guide, Miguel, a passionate young man, took us on a fascinating journey from seed to cup. He explained the entire coffee process in detail, highlighting the differences between the washed, natural, and honey processes. It was fascinating to learn how each method impacts the final flavor profile. Miguel also shared captivating historical facts about how Colombia became a global coffee benchmark.
Then, Juan delighted us with a masterclass on coffee quality, different roast types, and how to identify a true single-origin coffee. The icing on the cake was the preparation of a delicious cup of coffee from the same farm using the traditional "colador de tela" (cloth filter), a true gem of Colombian coffee culture!
We took the tour in English, which was perfect for most of our group, but it's great to know they also offer it in Spanish and French (on weekends).
We want to extend a huge thank you to the entire Finca Entre Bosques team for their incredible hospitality and attention. A highly recommended experience for any coffee lover! We'll...
Read moreUnderwhelmed with this tour. The young guys who work their are very nice boys but the tour could be much better.
You get a brief overview how to make traditional Colombian coffee with a cloth drip. Followed by a very small tasting of a weak brew.
Followed by a tour of the plantation which was a little vague & we had to prompt our guide to get relevent information from him. The tour should explain the following;
what makes this plantation unique & different to the others in the area?
what specific type of beans does this plantation produce?
do they roast the beans onsite?
who is your biggest export market?
what beans do you sell? There was no show of the bean selection for sale rather 'you can buy a bag of this coffee' after the tasting
apparently this is a relatively new coffee farm. Why not explain the history of the plantation & how it came about?
the lads just try and be too humourous but it's a little cringe & unprofessional
In summary you get a basic overview of the plantation process and a tasting of weak coffee. If you want a more professional tour with passionate guides, visit one of the larger plantations...
Read moreI visited this coffee farm on a whim, mainly because it was the one closest to my hostel, and I'm so glad I did.
The farm is relatively small, and although it specialises in coffee, it also produces other fruits like lemons, plantains and nectarines. All of these plants are grown together, in the same plot of land, which makes the farm feel more like a nature reserve rather than a typical commercial farm. Along with its variety of plants, the farm also attracts many animals, including hawks, eagles, wild cats, capybaras and tarantulas — some of which you may be able to spot during your visit!
Sergio, the guide, was incredibly friendly and informative, offering an insight into the natural processes that help the coffee cherries mature over several years. After picking and grinding your coffee beans, you get to taste one of the farm's speciality coffees while the barista walks you through the steps for making the perfect brew.
