It is full of trash. Nobody cares if there is trash on the ground, plastic cans swimming in the water. There is no „aquarium“, there are no corals anymore. There are a few fish yes. Questions is how long still, with hundreds to thousand of people arriving each day..
Tours/drivers are unreliable. We were told once arrived we were able to leave every 30 min. after 1pm - turns out we can’t choose and have to stay longer then we wanted to (we wanted to leave again the minute we arrived there). Also this is no tour.. it is just a taxi tour the crowded sandbank of 4m2 and back.
There were so many people, it was difficult to get off the boat to the small sandbank. Then we were just left there.
It was a lot of current/waves and you have to be careful not to touch sea urchins.
I read bad reviews before and thought it couldn’t be soo bad.. it is. It was one of the worst experiences I...
Read moreI’ve been really wanting to visit this place as I love snorkelling. However, after reading the reviews and seeing how crowded it gets, I feel very conflicted. It’s disheartening to see how some guides, who are meant to educate visitors on protecting marine life, allow practices that treat animals as entertainment props. Wildlife should never be handled for photo opportunities. Rays, for example, should be admired respectfully from a distance, not caught and passed around for amusement. It’s truly sad to witness this lack of care.
I hope more people choose not to go to support these activities and instead become a voice for sea animals to let them live in peace, observed from afar and treated with...
Read moreVery crowded and you have to watch out for sea urchins if you go and see the San Andres sign under water. The San Andres sign is hogged by local photographers that charge money for pics. The floating bridge was wrecked during a storm earlier this year and you have to walk in the water from one island to the other. Also, a local captured a ray and was forcing it to have pictures with people and you could see it struggling to try to escape. The clear water and snorkelling is worth it, I thought this was way better than Johnny Cay which was not...
