I am frustrated by my experience here. I was the only one in the park when I went today and was looking forward to the tranquility of that. The security guard found me and followed me around the entire time, which I am pretty sure is not standard procedure. I started to feel uncomfortable when twice he pulled me into a side hug to take a picture of us. There are very secluded and narrow pathes in this garden and I felt uncomfortable walking them with him alone. He kept grabbing my arm "to lead me" and said he wanted to kiss me plus many other uninvited remarks. At the end, he grabbed for my hand to help me up some very standard steps and I refused. He said, ya, okey, tranquilo! I would caution solo women coming here. You do not want to feel unsure whether or not you're safe while in all the secluded parts with the creepy...

Nice but not worth it. Well designed but poorly managed, the garden is over planted and non-irrigated which gives it a sad look during the dry season (April). Nice attendant will greet you and charge 20mil peso per international tourist, though Colombian tourist will only pay half. The view from the tower is very nice. Part of the path is well signed & part of it is over grown with no signs at all. I wouldn't go again, nothing...

An excellent repository of native and brought in plants are in the gardens. The tour was excellent and this is a must visit place. This may not be in your to do list in the island, however this is an excellent place to learn about the botanical history of the island. The view from the mirador is a must to see as well. The place can get very hot, hence don't forget your water. Watch out for the iguanas that could come out...

Among things to do in San Andrés the visit to this botanical garden is a must for those who love nature. Entrance is just USD $1 and includes walking the place with a guide. There is an observation point to see the 7 colors of San Andres sea.
