Go during low tide if you want to walk the whales tale. The beach is pristine and one of the most beautiful in Costa Rica. The tree line helps to provide much needed shade!

Visited most of beaches in neighborhood. But every evening returning to that one as was the nicest one. Almost no stones and creek flowing to sea.

One of our favorite beaches. Always quite and lots of shaded places to cool out.

We were asking ChatGPT for a beach with a more wide beach area so that our kids have easier times taking a bath here and it recommended this one. Rightfully so! During low tide the beach has extremely wide sand areas and it allows to nicely sit in the shadow under palm trees. The entrance fee is 6$ but allows you to also joint the neighbouring beaches and national park. The entry area has good showers and toilets. The park staff is very nice and on our first day where we joined late, shortly before high tide we were allowed to enter without pay to take a look (and returned the next day cause it was so nice). Make sure to spend some time in the small jungle area between entry and beach - we saw Iguanas and monkeys here! Our favourite...

Two bonded (married ) Scarlet Macaws in the wild stopping to feast on their favorite tropical fruit at the Playa Ballena beach line in Costa Rica. The Scarlet Macaw parrots had been poached to near extinction but may be experiencing a small comeback… if the poachers can be contained. Come to Costa Rica and support eco tourism by bearing witness to one of the few remaining global havens for...

Very nice beach. Much more calm than Uvita. Unguarded parking but looked safe being located right next to the ranger. 6$ for the national park which also allows to enter Uvita and other beaches in the area. No Claro...
