La Joya de Ballena — Hotel in Bahía Ballena

I've stayed at Many's House on 2 occasions - once with friends and once with family - both times were great.|Many is super helpful and welcoming - he has lots of local suggestions and helped me out recently when we unfortunately needed a mechanic. |The house is located above the main north-south road and has a comfortable breeze to make beach living possible for us mountain people! However, you do need a car to reach attractions and the town from here.|The house we stayed in has everything you need for cooking and relaxing - a sweet little patio with nook to watch the ocean and sunsets, a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable bathroom with everything functioning perfectly. Our house had 2 bedrooms and the beds were comfy and the fans sufficient to keep the heat at bay overnight.|A super extra is the lovely pool that overlooks the wooded slopes and the ocean below. We swam daily and really enjoyed bird-watching from the deck (toucans, parakeets) as well as enjoying the visiting howler monkeys.|I thoroughly recommend a stay at Many's - worth every penny and great for...

Manny’s House was a fantastic place to stay. Manny was an excellent host, very friendly and answered all of questions. He would bring us fresh fruit from his garden almost every day. Villa Eco was a perfect location for our “home base” while in Costa Rica. There was no air conditioning, but fans kept us cool and at night we even needed a blanket to keep us warm. The view from the porch looked to the west over the rain forest and at the ocean. The sunsets from this location were spectacular. No alarm clocks were necessary as the howler monkeys started their calling at 5:30 just before sunrise. Toucans parrots, numerous song birds as well the spectacular Blue Morpho butterflies were part of our daily lives. There was enough activities in the area to keep us busy for the 3 weeks we were there. If you are reading this, we would suggest you bring extra sunscreen from home it is expensive in Costa Rica and the sun is very hot and strong. I have travelled all over the world and have stayed at amazing places but I would have to say that Many's house is my favorite. The actual house is cozy and has everything you need including a lovely shower and toilet where you can flush the toilet paper!! There is air conditioning if you need and a fully stocked kitchen so you can cook at home an there is a beautiful pool to cool off in.The view of the ocean is stunning and every morning we woke up to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys.
