IF YOU ARRIVE BY BUS AND HAVE A 0700 BOOKING TELL THE STAFF IMMEDIATELY. Waterfalls are beautiful. Suggest arriving early to enjoy more of a peaceful experience. Suggest getting the trucks as a lift if you can spare an extra $20 because the trek looks/sounds intense - especially if you are beggining your walk anytime after 0800. Giving these guys 4 stars because I found the staff really unhelpful. Reason is this. We arrived by bus from Dominical for a 0700 booking. When we arrived all sounded good they pointed us in the direction of the car park so we started walking. I went back to the reception to ask for the bus timetable back to Domincal. When they realised we had arrived by bus they said that we would not be able to make the truck by 0700 and it would count as a no show. This meant that we would have to wait until 0800 for the pickup at the office. In their defence we booked our slot the evening before and received confirmation at like 2300. I think this meant that the truck which by default is at the car park would not be located near the office. The reason I have dropped a star is because when they realised we didn't have a car I asked them to call the truck to ask them to wait/come and pick us up. They simply refused which seemed outrageous bearing in mind the people with cars wouldn't have yet arrived at the car park. This was a poor experience with their staff and one I wanted to flag. Apart from that the place is beautiful and well maintained. For a half day experience get the truck. For a full day...

On our trip to this amazing site we brought our 10 year old boy and our 5 year old girl. They were so excited to do this hike but they had already done some hiking before this one so they were already mentally prepared for this adventure. Very important that if you come with your little ones make sure that they had already done some hiking before so that they can be prepared for this one in particular. It is important that you read, understand and most importantly follow the rules of the National Park. There's an option for a 15 to 20 min ride to the waterfall but it was quite pricey for the 4 of us 😅. We arrived at the lower part of the waterfall which has an expectacular view. We had fun at the waterfall but be aware that it could rain at any given moment and that could change the flow and depthness of the waterfall's pool area per say. According to the people that watch the site the deepest part of the waterfall pool could go as low as 5 to 6 meters which is 16 to 19+or- a ft. depending on the weather circumstances. Bring water to stay hydrated and also shoes if you're planning to get in the water, there are some parts where the rocks are slippery and all you want is to avoid any accidents or injuries. They allow food into the site but be kind and mindful and do not live anything behind you. The time to leave the site is at 3:30pm and remember that the walk to the entrance is quite hard you'll need to save some energy to go back especially the little ones....

BREATHTAKING and totally worth it! BUT!! If you're even considering going here, make sure it’s NOT on a Sunday unless you’re up for a 10k hike in muddy, rocky, and tough walk. We got there on a Sunday and neither the horses nor the 4X4 work on Sunday’s so your only choice is to walk there. There is parking about 3/4 of a mile down from the main road but it’s steep so a 4X4 is highly recommended to park there. Even if you do park it’s still a tough 2.25 mile hike to the falls. We ended up parking in front of the office on the main road as we rented a small front wheel drive car and didn’t want to risk getting stuck. The 10k (5k there, 5k back) hike is totally worth it once you get to the falls. They are breathtaking and very refreshing as a halfway point of your hike. But please note. It takes about an hour one way and an hour back! Elderly and people with any kind of condition that can’t do a 10k mountain hike should definitely hire a horse or the pickup truck and should not go there on Sunday!!!!! Also the main office sells waters and sodas if you didn’t bring any. I recommend bringing plenty of water and a good sandwich or snacks to eat at the falls. There are no vendors at all anywhere in the hike or at the falls and no supervision whatsoever other than a guy at the falls entrance not really checking for bracelets.

There’s a cool Airplane restaurant on the way back which is worth stopping at to get...
