This one is great fun! There are so many tours in Costa Rica to take, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, jungle excursions, tour guides, crocodile viewing, and many more. When we signed up for this all day jungle fun it sounded a little light in the high adventure that we were looking for- but it was not. It was perfect! And in fact became the highlight of our two weeks in Costa Rica. The Park at Ocean Ranch tour guides were in touch with our group of four ahead of time, letting us know what to bring and what to expect. We were picked up at our hotel in Playa Hermosa. And started our jungle adventure with greetings and with zip line training . After brief but thorough training we did SEVEN ZIP LINES! They were a varying degrees, steepness, length -including one that lasted over a minute across the ravine! When you do that many in a row you immediately get good at it. We were hanging upside down, filming as we went down and overall just enjoying the excitement. Then we moved on to repelling. Down a waterfall. Which is much harder to do then just down straight dry rock. But the instruction was good we took our time and even did some fast-paced repelling. This is during the end of the dry season. Sometimes during the wet season they're not able to do the waterfall repelling due to the abundance of the flowing water. The area has creeks and dams and plenty to see in nature. We saw lethal frogs and all kinds of trees and plants and were given lunch while we were there. We made friends with a couple of the other people touring the park who are on a single adventure tour but we shared some zip lining with them. So it was a good social experience as well. After learning to repel the four of us got on horses and road back down to the front of the park. I've done a lot of horseback riding and I can say that these horses were great! They weren't dying to go back to the barn or lazy or sad or unhealthy. They were beautiful happy, peppy horses. In fact as we were leaving, Chu let them run free and there was a mini stampede that we got to watch. While in the background a mother and her fold were grazing. Really just a beautiful sight in the Costa Rica jungle. The horseback riding was actually one of my favorite parts. But that wasn't the end of the day. The end of the day consisted of all terrain vehicle riding through the creeks and trails that we had traversed all day. It was a lot of fun and I ride a motorcycle so it was easy to pick up the ATV driving, but really the zip lining and the repelling and the horseback riding were much more enjoyable to me. And less loud.. I can't say enough about the staff our fearless leader Chu, was funny and knowledgeable and drove the tractor that took us from location to location. When we weren't flat-out hiking. Whew! His crew was also fun and funny and we all really had a good time. It was an overcast day so despite the heat and the bug spray and sunblock we left unscathed but tired from the exertion. If you want to have a great jungle experience and have many different activities in one day I highly recommend this one. We booked through TripAdvisor but you could do it directly through the parks site. But at the end of the day be ready to go back to wherever you're staying and crash. Probably won't even feel like a cerveza or Margarita before you hit the pillow.

Just whatever you do don't go back to the hotel Tramonto. Avoid that hotel like the karma ending fun stealing black...

They kept trying to group me with another group when I kept telling them I’m not with them that we were doing 2 different things… when I was done with my activities they said a taxi was on there way to me the taxi came an hr later and said I had to wait 20 more mins for the other group when I kept telling him I’m not with that group! I did not book with them! The worker said that a taxi was coming for me! The taxi put the manager on the phone who is btw not even on site! So good luck trying to get anything solve bc it’s all over the phone! She told me that they only shuttle (which is not even a shuttle it’s just a Camry) only shuttle groups n if I wanted him to take me I had to paid him! If that was the case then why did the worker say a taxi was coming for me she should have told me to prepare my own ride! I was waiting an hour for the taxi after a long day of activities which they barely gave us any water n told us not to bring anything with us because they would be providing the water. I told the manager that it’s fine I’ll pay I just want to go home!!!! I’ve already been waiting an hour! Mind you I don’t have any Wi-Fi or data to even order myself an Uber! When I finally was able to get wifi which took them 20 mins to finally connect to me…. The connection was too slow to even order an Uber! 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹… the taxi was lying saying the workers don’t know English and I’m like what are you talking about they been speaking English to me all day all of a sudden they don’t know English! Anyways I finally get home after waiting an hour and a half for the other group bc obviously I was left with no choice! When I finally get home I got a huge headache and started the throwing up because how dehydrated I was because they only provided us with one bottle of water and told us not to bring water! Plz don’t come here! Super unorganized! They don’t care about you they will leave you stranded and dehydrated! And will just keep looking at you like there’s nothing...

Was a fun day for zip lining. But there are a few things that need to happen to make this experience a much better place. We booked zip lining for 930am. We checked the box for pickup in herradura area.

Pickup went great except we were told there was a $10/pp charge even though we were within the area for free pickup. Just change the website to show jaco only.

I paid the fee not to big a deal. Then started up in the tractor for a ride. Went well got harnesses. Then went to waterfall. Where we were told to wait for 2hrs while they did the rappel part for close to 18 guests. This was a complete surprise to us. We finally got to the start of our zip line at just after noon. Pretty well ruined our kids spirits as there was nothing we could do about it. Didn’t bring snacks as we thought we would be done around noon and eating lunch. Yes only 2 hrs of our life but we would have prepared differently had we known for the kids.

We have done numerous zip lines around Costa Rica and never have had this happen before.

So we finished zip lining around 140 and lunch around 2. Our kids were less than pleased with our decision to come here.

1- manage the timing of the different activities better or just flat out let people know this can happen. We could have been picked up at 11. 2- they say 2-4 yr old is free but no way should you bring that young a person here as there is nothing for them to do. If you have no alternative then so be it but bring things to play with 3- bring more water on the trip. Good lord there was part of the group who drank a ton of the bottles and there was only enough for one each. So part of the group went without water.

The place is cool but we won’t recommend it just for the issues...

Best Time EVER! I went for the All Day Excursion on April 20th, 2021 because I did not want to have to choose between horseback riding and ATV's (and who COULD?!). No regrets what so ever. My friend and I were the only ones on the full tour, we only had to group up with 2 others when it came time to zipline. We horseback rode through the jungle and streams while our guide Ryan educated us on the history, plants, vegetation, animals, and bugs in the area. What an educating and relaxing experience! We came across multiple poison tree frogs, monkeys, huge centipedes, and some really cool vegetation! We rode up the mountain and got harnessed for Waterfall repelling and zip-lining. Both were unforgettable and all the guides were super supportive and understanding (I'm not a pro with horses, repelling, or ziplining). Our horses were waiting for us after the last zipline. We rode back to basecamp and were served a traditional Costa Rican lunch (get the grilled fish!). While we ate under the canopy we got to watch the afternoon thunderstorm. I was so happy for it to rain, it meant that our ATV tour would get EXTRA muddy! We got a different guide for the ATV tour and special shoutout to him because he was wonderful. I got covered in mud within the first minute and we were zooming through the potholes and rivers so fast that we had an hour to spare so he took us back up to the waterfall where I got to rinse off. They provided transportation to and from our Air Bnb in Jaco. Tip your tour team, they are worth it! Pictured is me on my tour horse, Pinto!
