There are hundreds of thousands of stories of faith within the walls of this beautiful Basilica and every August 2nd means a compulsory pilgrimage to fulfill a promise made to the " Negrita de los Angeles". I myself can assert that I have received a couple of miracles from the patrona de Costa Rica .🇨🇷 Things I thought I could not accomplish were certainly reached thanks to the faith I have on the Mother of the Lord.

As a place of faith it has 5 stars because it is, of course, one of the most important places in CR but as a touristic place... I give it a 3. Why? Bathrooms are awful. They are located outside and they are not a nice place. There is 1 private parking lot and it is small and somehow improvised. The other option is to park next to the street and I do not recommend it unless you want to pay an unofficial security guard and they don't take any responsibility in case of anything. Also there was a fight when we were getting holy water and there was no security right there. It took some minutes for some guards to show up and stop the fight. The worst was that the fight was because someone was drunk and a guy accused another guy who was travelling with his family for that and the drunk guy was other man that police did not notice and did...
