Not safe! We are a family of 7 who were separated. The guides completely lost the kayak with my 15 and 13 year olds in it, and my 63 year old mother was abandoned alone to find her way to shore and dock by herself. Our tour had the 4 kayaks with our family plus 3 other kayaks of other tourists and only 2 guides. From the beginning no guidance was given even though we informed them that we hadn’t kayaked before. I actually had to help my daughters switch places so the stronger was in the back: we were literally just given lifejackets and told to push out and wait about 20 meters out in the ocean where no guide was waiting. Very quickly one of the guides fell behind with my mother and our teens who were slower. We were then told that they were going to return to the dock and come back on a boat since they were having difficulties. This was a lie. The guide had actually already lost my teens who had never kayaked before and were having problems steering: they ended up rowing to a local hotel on an island and used a a stranger’s phone to call me. Meanwhile my mother was told “wait here and I will return with the boat” and then the second guide disappeared. None of us ever saw him again even at the end of the “tour.” The only remaining guide was with the 5 remaining kayaks and was more concerned with flirting with 2 young men than with anyone’s safety. My husband and I who were in separate kayaks with our younger daughters had to insist that she call the missing guide so we could have confirmation of our family’s safety: she didn’t have the phone number of the other guide! After about 30 minutes of floating in the dark ocean and asking us if we had Facebook so she could try and find him that way, somehow she got someone on the phone. We were assured that my mother and our girls were together with the guide and were at the dock getting ready to come out on a boat and would meet us at the bioluminescence. Lies. My girls were already lost and my mother was left floating by herself on the dark ocean. My mother finally realized she had been abandoned and somehow found and rowed back to the dock by herself. While trying to get out and drag the kayak out she fell 3 times: they are lucky she is so strong and did not break anything! When my husband and I returned to the dock the owner approached me and offered to take my mom and daughters out on the boat, which I thought was very nice not knowing what really happened. My mother was hurting from her falls and my girls were too terrified. Once I found out the full story I called the owner the next day. He again offered to take us out on the boat but was not interested in hearing any of the details of what happened. How can the problems be fixed if he isn’t willing to hear them? We did go out on the boat that he offered us the next night, but the operators mentioned they were actually a different company and even they expressed how the kayak tours are not really safe. We are also in the tourism industry and cannot imagine running our business like this. These were big mistakes that put my family in real danger and the owner was not concerned with even hearing what happened, let alone how to fix them. There were many small, common sense measures that could have been taken to prevent something like this from happening but i have no confidence they are interested in doing any of them. The bioluminescence is truly magical: book with a different company to be safe

Alex was awesome and the tour was very cool and informative! My first experience with bioluminescence. Pick a phone that picks up the colors, but, it's a beautiful sight and our kids had an amazing magical time! You can swim if you so choose. Unforgettable experience. Won't disappoint My 3 year old joined, I did the boat and not the kayak

Definitely something everyone should experience once in their life! If the tide is low, they let you get out and swim in the bioluminescence

A magistral experience, the guide really knew her stuff, she explained clearly why the phenomenon happens, the price is more than fair, the equipment was in perfect shape, I felt secure during the entire tour, they also offered us if we want to go on the long tour or the short one, I’m hoping to experience that again with them, highly recommended, don’t be afraid to call them and ask for the tour for your entire family, you will...

we did the bioluminescence kayak tour last week and we were flabbergasted! Maria was not only a dedicated kayak athlete (very fast) but also explained everything in very much detail and showed us the best spots to experience this incredible natural spectacle. Even though I was in the kayak with an inexperienced kayak driver they were very patient and the complementary water tasted heavenly. Really awesome experience, would...
