If you're looking for a relaxing day at the beach with drinks and good food then Isla Tortuga is a great choice. There are many levels of tours so read the description carefully to find the right one for you. Some include a fancy boat, endless drinks, and lounge chairs, others may only get you to the island with a bite to eat. It also depends where you're leaving from for what options you have. We were staying in Montezuma and wanted a more budget trip, we went with the small tour company in the center of Montezuma who offered a speed boat ride and lunch for $55 US. For the price it was a great option and the food was excellent. We rented lounge chairs when we got there, which was well worth it. We paid 4,000 colones per chair, it was a bit unclear however where you could sit as some were private. You can either find a chair attendant or just sit down and they will find you, probably best to find the guy first though. They have a decent souvenir shop on the island, which also sells the national beers. There are also some public bars, but they don't have extensive options, the Coco Locos are the main coconut and rum drink and they're excellent. If you're facing the beach, there is one on the far right that we thought did a really great job, even cutting a heart shaped opening for the straw. I believe they were 3,000 colones. We also went snorkeling while we were there, definitely not the main attraction here but we saw maybe 10 different species of fish. On the way out there we got to see two turtles mating, but no turtles during our snorkel (we were there...

Lots of fun from the get go, from the time you get on the boat to the island and back just continuous entertainment. Antony the MC is the best dancer and comedian. He got the crowd going with his moves, the service from the rest of the crew was excellent above and beyond what one would expect. Snorkling, banana boat rides, hiking, kayaking and volleyball are some of the activities there on the island. I would advise you buy all inclusive activity package if you're interested in them rather than buying individually there on the island. The lunch on the island was hot and fresh, grilled chicken and fish with lots of different salads and fruits, plentiful and filling. Lunch comes with wine and fruit drinks, for pop you need a ticket which is provided free on the boat. Highly recommended tour specially on the way back on the boat, live band, singing, dancing and continuous serving of beverages and fruits to keep you going. There are showers on the boat for a final rinse down from the sand. Expect a full day of fun, activities, entertainment if you're into that or a quite trip for reading, relaxation and sun bathing if you so desire. The boat is airconditioned inside, quite and cool with lots of seating. You can doze off, chat with friends or read. For the action you need to go to the top where the band is playing. Either way you'll get amazing service, lots of smiles and five...

A wonderful excursion cab driver picked us up at the resort on Time air conditioned Taxi. We're at Montezuma play a very nice man who spoke English and told us the safety protocol life jackets and off we went to Tortuga. After a brief snorkel we headed to a very very beautiful beach rented a lounge chair for the day for $7 us.we were served a delicious lunch of fresh fish and fresh vegetables all the beer you could drink except the Canadians drink us dry. We were at with a great group of women in their twenties they had a great time they were like a pod of dolphins swimming together. The staff was courteous and give us great service our man was Douglas who made everything wonderful. We have been all over the world to 25 different countries mostly islands in the tortuga experience is by far the best we've seen so far for beauty safety warm water and a wonderful experience all the amenities are there for you at a very very inexpensive price. We got to meet willemena the local boar and there were a few cocks running around also. The boat was fast and comfortable the staff was wonderful and we felt very safe we were lucky to be on a great cruise with a wonderful group of people that was big fun I would recommend this to anyone it is well...

Tortuga Island It depends what you want to do / what you like. If you like loud music, drinking, inhaling generator exhaust, lots of people on a beach, getting soaked during the ride over, btw if you have a problem with your spine / back problem it could be dangerous! The ride is very very bumpy depending on the waves, etc.,etc., Sit on front of the boat or you get really wet. Don’t be surprised that people speak little English. It’s a bumpy ride over ca 1 hr 15 minutes. OUr boat went back to pick up additional people after we had left for 20 minutes already. Take the earliest boat so this does not happen, we had the last one going over. You have to rent chairs and umbrellas $14 each. Food was ok of course drinks 🍺 ( alcohol) are expensive. Snorkeling was not possible because water is cloudy and many people in water so no corral’s. The sand in the water is mixed with stones/ shells we needed to wear shoes. Comparing the beach / island to other beaches it would land somewhere on a scale of 10, 10 being fantastic like Maldives, Bahamas, Dominican, 3-4. But people are very friendly and helpful. Ergo: party island, loud, money maker.

Relaxing beach day. I went march 21st, which is dry season. It was very hot but there was a lot of shade. There are beach chairs and umbrellas which were free to use. There is a gift shop, if you forgot anything. The prices are very reasonable. We were served lunch, I recommend the fish, although they gave me fish and chicken both. Everyone who tried the fish loved it. We were server iced tea and a glass of white wine. You can ask for free cold water. There is a bar If you wish to purchase beer or cocktails. Depending on you tour pkg, banana boat ride was free for most. Snorkeling was $20. They take you away from beach to a rock formation and give you lots of bread to feed the fish. I literally had them eating out of my hands. 😁 The bus ride is lengthy, this is true for most tours out of San Jose. The bus on this trip, compared to other tours, was an actual tour bus, not a passenger van and was much more comfortable. We spotted a pod of dolphins on the return trip as a bonus. (Pet pig?Like animal On island named Philamena)❤ *actually called a collared peccary

Handled by Zuma Tours. They were friendly, professional, and very helpful. Captain took us out on the water and stopped the boat to show us a bunch of spotted dolphins jumping around and playing in the water near us. We also stopped at a very beautiful rocky arch on the way to Isla Tortuga. When there, dropped off the chef and helper to go make some lunch while a small boat that made and sold live ceviche in the shells of oysters, scallops or live lobster ceviche (in its own shell!) rolled up. We got plenty of time for snorkeling and lots of freedom to go where we wanted. The second stop had a small beach with a huge iguana. Pretty cool tour overall, very enjoyable. Once you get back to Tortuga Isle for lunch, you can meet the local "wild" boar that is like a small dog in temperament, rolling over for belly rubs after being fed by the tourism trade. There is a small gift shop selling fresh coconuts for $2 USD (with Rum $6) and beers. Enjoy the rest of the time chilling on the beach, swimming in the ocean, or having a drink (or three)
