Very disappointing how rapidly development has been allowed in this natural treasure.

Five years ago Isla Tortuga had a pristine beach with a single public picnic pavilion.

Now the beach is overrun with businesses, furniture, garbage. The water is choked with boats and reeks of gasoline, with basically a ferry now bringing customers rather than visitors (this is made explicit if you try to use the bathrooms, which are all labeled customer-only).

Where is all that fuel smell in the water coming from/going to? Where is the septic of the bathrooms going?

This is the other side of the “eco-paradise” Costa Rica, looking the other way re: the “eco” part when there is money to be made. Again, very...

Mark my words, one of the best beache and Island in the Costa Rica. Plenty of things to offer, water sports, shacks and bars. Luckily we visited the place in the afternoon we were the last batch so we got the entire beach empty quite a rare sight, and so we could witness the amazing views havung magical white sand and blue green waters. Would advice you to take the entire package of Island visit along with night snorkeling to witness the bioluminescence. Overall and excellent...

We took the catamaran to the island through Calypso cruises. It was a great day. The staff were helpful. The guide was friendly and attentive. The food was good, but not great. Couldn't see a lot snorkeling because of the water was choppy. They had a private area for the group that was comfortable. The beach chairs they provided were not comfortable but you can purchase lounge chairs with umbrellas. It was one of the best tours we took on our vacation. ...

My 1 week Costa Rica itinerary ⬇️ 🌴 Day 1-2: San José area After arriving in San José, spend the day exploring the area. The next day, head north to explore La Paz Waterfall Gardens and Parque Nacional Volcán Poás 🌞 Day 3: La Fortuna area A few highlights in this area: Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal Volcano, Tabacon Hot Springs. I did a zip line tour with Sky Adventures in the Arenal Park area and it was amazing! When you’re in the area, I definitely recommend checking out some hot springs. There are several options but Tabacon was my favorite! *after leaving the La Fortuna area, on your way to the Monteverde area, if you have time, stop by Rio Celeste. it’s not really “on the way” but it’s not too far out of the way 😅* 🌿 Day 4: Monteverde area My favorite things I did in this area: Hanging bridge tour with Sky Adventures and El Tigre Waterfalls tour! ⛵️ Day 5: Isla Tortuga/Jaco Taking a day trip to Isla Tortuga is incredible! It does take up the whole day but it’s an awesome experience 😍 ☀️ Day 6: Manuel Antonio National Park 🏝️ Day 7: Dominical/Uvita area When I was in Costa Rica, I did rent a car which made it a lot easier to see this many places in a short amount of time. It’s not a super budget friendly option but if you want to see several places in a limited time, I definitely recommend renting a car! Comment any questions you have about visiting Costa Rica! 🇨🇷 #travelitinerary #itinerary #travelguide #costaricatravel #travelcostarica #costaricatrip #costaricapuravida #costarica #costaricaitinerary #traveltheworld #travelingpost #visitcostarica
