This is a must see waterfall if you are in the La Fortuna, Quesada or Zarcero area. The access road is beautiful and un-paved the last mile but no need for a 4x4. Just make a quick call to the number on the sign at the entrance and your on your way to see 2 beautiful waterfalls. The trails are very well marked and maintained. It’s an easy to moderate hike and you can swim at the smaller falls. The camping reception area is beautiful and you can see for miles. Miguel was an excellent host.

I visited the waterfall with my wife and my 11 month old son. Keep in mind: you have to make a reservation before visiting - the waterfalls can not be entered without reservation. The tour itself was wonderful! A really cool and not too easy hike (1000m) and maybe 500m at the waterfalls. It was worth the time and money! We were the only ones at the site today and it was amazing. Tipp: Book a tour with Miguel. He’s a fantastic guide: Gracias!

Amazing place, one of the best places we visited in Costa Rica, especially for swimming near waterfalls. Miguel, who takes care of the park, is also very kind and helpful and organized additional tour in the nearby national park for us. We came from crowded and touristy La Fortuna and enjoyed this place way more. Great option for 2-3 nights nearby to spend in beautiful scenery and potentially do some more activities.

We had a great time. We did a reservation via WhatsApp for the trail and the owner Miguel send us the location for the parking lot in the village. After a short walk through the village and a way between beautiful cow pastures we arrived at the top of the park, the way was well marked. The view on top was amazing. Miguel picked us up during the way up to ensure that we found the way. Since he just had time, he accompanied us as a private guide for free and showed us flora and fauna.

The trail in the cloud forrest starts at the top of the hill at a locked gate. The key for the gate we got at the ticket office near the parking lot. The trail is magic. Beautiful trees and mossy stones. The whole trail is perfectly signed out und have handrails everywhere. There are two waterfalls to see, a tall one and a small one. The tall one is quite impressive. While swimming is easy at the small one, also if the water is a bit cold.

The way is easy to moderate. We did with our kids, 3 and 5 years old. They needed a hand sometimes, but they have done most parts at their own.

In comparison to other waterfalls we did in Costa Rica, we really recommend this one! Beautiful trail, mystic cloud forrest, not crowded and for 10$ per adult...
