This park is a bit of a hike unless you live in Heredia. But it's a great place at a reasonable price for parties. WARNING: it gets very cold on top of the mountain. Unlike most other places in the central valley, you'll definately want to wear jeans and a warm shirt up there and probably a jacket too. The area gets wind ranging from gentle to pretty rough. And its cold enough that most gusts are damp (and cold) from the humidity on the Limon/Carabean side of the mountain. It's kid friendly, with lots of play and exercise areas. It's dog friendly with lots of space, but bring bagies to take care of their business. It closes early, so no late night parties. And don't bring any alcohol, as that's prohibited. It hace a really nice open green area, where everybody sits down and have their picnic. Theere are a few sections equipped with grill and so, for the lucky early birds tgar arrive to the site. Read moreGreat hiking! Beautiful trees and creeks. No actual map so bring a gps if you are on a tight schedule. Otherwise it’s fenced in so you will eventually get back to the entrance. Fees are minimal ($9 for two adults and 2 kids plus a car) definitely recommend. There is no food inside so bring your own or venture out to the many restaurants outside.
