The waterslide area at RIU Guanacaste is a highlight for both adults and children, offering plenty of fun and entertainment. There are several slides available, each with its own unique thrills. The height restriction is 1.20m, and lifeguards are present to ensure safety. Wait times are minimal, often just a minute or two, which keeps the experience enjoyable without long delays.

The slides are fast and exciting, but there is one downside: some of the joints between slide sections are slightly uneven. This can cause minor scrapes or cuts if you don’t adjust your riding position. I personally got a small cut on my elbow and noticed a few others with similar minor injuries at different times. To avoid this, I recommend keeping your elbows tucked in while sliding.

Drinks aren’t allowed inside the waterslide area, but there’s a convenient self-serve drink station and bathrooms just outside, which is a nice touch.

It's a children's splash pad and play area/kiddy slides, and eight waterslides i would guess are for ages 10 and up (based on minimum height requirements).

These are legit fun and fast slides for kids and adults. These aren't just a throwaway addition to the resort, and there are lifeguards working to ensure a safe experience.

As for the kiddy area, its got enough equipment to keep younger kids busy, and cool while they stay within sight of parents.

A little bonus to the Riu hotel guests. It would be better if they had mats or tubes because the slides have crevices in them that can leave a mark. They do have a soda fountain on site which was nice because of the heat.
