Jose´s Crocodile River Tour — Attraction in Tárcoles

Update: I've since found out it is illegal to feed the crocodiles so would suggest other companies (Jungle Crocodile Safari seem to follow the law).

On the tour we saw an amazing amount of birds, crocodiles, iguanas and other things and the animal life was beautiful at sunset. The tour commentary was a bit brash and lacking in information beyond the names of animals.

It felt more 'theme park' than naturalist adventure as there was lots of feeding of the animals and crocodiles. This was quite a contrast to other tours of reserves in the area and country generally which are very respectful of the flora and fauna and wouldn't interfere with the natural environment. There were a few questionable jokes at the expense of women and Mexicans too so overall while we saw a huge amount of interesting things it wasn't the atmosphere we were really wanting to see the amazing sights of Costa Rica at sunset.

Having said that I don't know if the other crocodile rover tour companies are any more focused on the nature rather than spectacle and low brow humour. The tour was busy so clearly it works for most people (a lot of families with kids) but we found the commentary/tour took a bit away from the experience of so many amazing animals in an amazing sunset...

Honestly can't say enough about our guide Adrian and the tour itself. I would highly recommend to anyone who would like to take in the spectacular wildlife. We seen so many crocodiles some were up to 12 feet long and also seen so many iguanas and the birds were spectacular, there wad so many mccaws and tiger herons and many other birds. I would post the pictures but my girlfreind has the majority of pics and videos. I will leave off and say that after a session with Adrian you'll feel like you meet a truly dedicated being to the environment and the wildlife. Adrian was the funniest guide I have ever encountered and made this tour fun with so much scientific Information on nature and the diversity of eco systems. I again would love to just go back amd hang out with the whole crew as they greatest us as we drove in amd everything was easy to book and easy to get too. I hope people can encounter Jose's crew and get to see what a true tour guide outfit is all about l, I myself am a guide on Vancouver island for fishing so again this is a testament to Jose's crocodiles tour as it was 110 percent fun and lots...

What an great evening experience!!! 🔥🤩 We found this attraction suddenly on google, arrived, they have checked the availability, booked it next available slot (same evening), pain and went on the boat! We were so lucky to have all the boat just for us, as other guys didn't showed up.

The two guys were incredible, one was explaining everything to us in English, so knowledge with fun stories! And the other was driving the boat and feeding crocs with meat from his hands! Incredible! When the crocodile wasn't there - he was spending some time to call him so they can be demonstrated to us 👏👏👏

After we saw all the crocs we could, we went to the mangroves, again, followed with interesting information.

We finished our river tour watching the sunset where the river meets the ocean.

Worth it 💯! If you in Costa Rica, go for it! And I do recommend to go for the evening slot (4pm), as it is not so hot and you will be watch the sunset. Perfect ending of the day.
