The best place for hiking all year round in Sljeme. Just inhale the clean air from the trees and please wear hiking shoes to protect your feet from rocks and bumps better. Over here you can burn a lot of calories and convert it into muscle. Please don’t litter to keep the path clean. At the entrance, instead of a waste only container, there should be a container for waste separation in order to encourage recycling in this country. If you get tired during hiking, stop and rest. I will definitely come again.
The only things that drive me crazy is that there's litter in some spots and a lot of owners walk their dogs without a leash. On Sunday, February 23rd 2025, there were 4 unleashed dogs and only 1 was kept on a leash. Too see more details about the...

Come for the scenery, stay for the unplanned cardio, and leave with stories that’ll make you the hero of your...
Read moreMost popular hiking route/trail on Medvednica mountain. Very crowded. Number 18 (after Njivice shelter no. 18 turns right and you continue straight with 19). I mostly follow right path, it is much more nicer and cooler. Not so easy to find a parking place on the parking lot. Usually people hike to Puntijarka mountain hut (it's open, you can eat and drink inside and outside, toilet is open). It takes (moderate climb) 1:30h to Puntijarka hut and then 45 min to Sljeme summit. Not so muddy (more dusty), but lot's of tree roots along the way (look down frequently). Water source after 15 min. Recommended for sure, any...
