Beautiful beach, like many on the island. What makes this one stand out: 1. How natural and “untouched” it is compared to other beaches in the area. (No beach loungers for rental here, not commercialized or trashed with adverts)- it’s old school bring a towel and lay on the rocks. 2. Lots of natural shade as the beach has a large amount of trees/little park 3. Steep rocky hike down to the beach/ no easy access 4. Getting here- google maps will have you think you have to drive or taxi for €35 each way, but actually there is a bus that runs between Hvar town and Stari Grad that stops at Dubovica Beach bus stop. In Hvar- the schedule is posted at the bus stop near the Konzum Grocery store and Taxi stand behind the town square church. It is €3.50 each way from Hvar to Dubovica. The bus drops you at the parking lot area so driving there is not gonna make the hike down or getting to the beach any more convenient- in fact parking is tight so I wouldn’t bother driving any time after 10am as it will be packed. 5. Water is pretty deep so it’s not a great beach if you have kids. 6. there are sea urchin at the bottom and on the rocks on the sides of the beach so water shoes are a must.

Lovely beach with pebble about 20 min ride with a car from the city. If you take a taxi, use the PickApp app as its reliable and provides the best rate for the ride. Once there, there is a 5min walk down the hill and to the beautiful beach (flip flops work too 🩴 ) Once down there are no sun beds or umbrellas but a few trees 🌳 can provide their shadow for the day. There is one restaurant one the right that has nice food and fine prices (no cards, only cash 💵). There is also a wooden bar that has no food and only drinks 🥤. Coffee is not their best but they have nice fresh lemonades (no cards here either). There is no reception at the beach but the restaurant on the right has wifi. It works to order a PickApp taxi and head for an uphill exercise to the main road.

There is no private parking, we parked by the road, from here it's a 5 minute walk down - unfortunately it's 15 minutes up, but worth it. Down below is a perfect cove, clear water, two small, family run restaurants, one with bar service so we don't die of hunger and thirst. There are no beds for hire, but the pebbles are smaller and round, so you can sunbathe comfortably on a plain towel. No mobile network, the perfect place if you REALLY want to escape... (You can pay by card in the restaurant and bar.) Perfect peace and sweet escape❤️

Terrible Experience – Would Not Recommend

First of all, there is no parking whatsoever – you have to leave your car on the main coastal road, risking your life every time you step out because of the traffic. From there, you descend via an inaccessible rocky path, surrounded by stones, with a real chance of encountering snakes, and always walking next to a very steep cliff. The walk takes around 15 minutes, and it feels dangerous the entire time.

Once you finally get to the beach, there is very little shade to be found. There are three cafés, but none of them served any food during my visit. There are also no shops at all – you can’t buy anything, so if you forget water or snacks, you’re out of luck.

The sea water was full of debris – seaweed, pine needles, and generally unpleasant to swim in.

Unless you have an absolute, unavoidable reason to come here, don’t. There are far safer, cleaner, and more comfortable...
