Gusarica Beach — Attraction in Grad Komiža

Beach Gusarica is a beautiful beach on the island of Vis. Placed in Komiža, near the city has a perfect view of the island Biševo. The beach itself is clean and the water is of a beautiful colour. The name of the beach is "lady of pirates", and the story goes: the pirets "visited" the town and plundered it in the 15th century. After escaping the town, they got into a terrible storm, so they thought that the holy Mary is mad because there was a picture of her among the stolen thing. They threw the picture into the sea, and on the place where it came out, the people built a church, wich is behind the beach, calling it "the lady Mary...

This is the city beach, positive sides are that it has shade and sunny parts so there is something for everyone. Entrance is good even though it's a beach of rocks, still, if you go more on the right, near the diving center, entrance is more smooth. 4/5 because during the summer (July and August) it is overcrowded and you should come in the morning around 9 at most to catch a good spot in the shade. Beach is also unique because of a church on it. Come and enjoy! 😊

This is an absolutely beautiful place, a quaint oldie worldie fishing village. Its spectacular beauty doesn't disappoint and though the journey from Split was a long (but enjoyable) one, it was worth it to witness all this place has to offer. Mama Mia was filmed here.
