We were charged another 2% Kuna conversion fee, and decided to pay in EUR hence. We stayed in 5 places in Croatia over 2 weeks (booked via various travel websites), and we were charged fair rate (xe.com/ucc) by everyone else (plus or minus a couple of Kunas). But here we were asked to pay in EUR or pay 2% more. We didn't feel we were cheated as it was earlier part of the trip, but later on we realised no one else was charging us. So a very low ethics experience in all.||||Will bring it to the notice of the website that we booked through. Wifi was pretty bad (averaged 8kbps); on more than a couple of days, the other couple of days it was okay. Informed the owner a couple of times, he said he'll sort it out, but it did do poorly after that as well.||||The place was very functional but very basic feeling for the price. So very low value for money. We travelled peak season, so rates were higher everywhere, and the rate here was average to above average relatively. But room was basic feeling - had all amenities and was clean etc, but of low value.||||Walls were very badly insulated - we could hear our neighbour couple very clearly, specially when they were in their bathroom. Badly insulated air flow wise too - we are non-smokers and we were getting smoke from the air vent in the bathroom into our room, so was pretty bad experience in all. Ideally would love a refund, but will definitely recommend an "avoid...
Read moreWhen we arrived in Komiza, a lady awaited us with a sign with our name on it. That was a pleasant surprise, only downside being: she spoke no English at all. She showed us the room, kitchen bathroom and roof terrace. She asked for our passports, took them and told us that we should pay later. Leaving us a bit weirded out, as we just kind of gave our passports away.||We booked a room with private bathroom but found out that we actually shared the bathroom (one shower plus toilet) with like 6 other rooms. Next day we contacted the owners and spoke to the English speaking son of the lady who welcomed us. ||After some explaining and recalculating. We got a small discount, but no apology for giving us the wrong room (more like some yelling to his grandma right in front of us, leaving us a bit weirded out again). We payed directly and got our passports back. ||Also the shower was cold (which made us doubt our choice to stay in our room) and one time there was no water at all. Rooms are quite noisy, we witnessed a couples fight next door for example.||Enjoyed the rest of our stay in our cute little room with nice Ac and view. Komiza and the whole island is truly beautiful. ||All in all magnificent view from|Room, but poor communication and very...
Read moreCannot rate the guesthouse cause we never got to see it. We were navigated to other property owned by the same host under false pretenses. They are listing same property on million outlets and tend to overbook vs slightest possibility of being empty. So if you are first time visiting Komiza check what your google map says about the address. They presented us tiny room with no natural light and toilet bowl behind curtain as en-suite. I have been all over the world in very modest accommodations but never in my life had to shower over toilet bowl. Btw you cannot find photo from this broom closet online. Overbooking happens we can understand that but you should own your mistake. Instead host Toni refused to meet us, opted to stay and finish his coffee and left his mother to deal with us. After standing on the street for hour and a half we decided to leave. He did however reach through social media because he can obviously be polite only with treat of public shaming. Toni and people like him give bad name to Croatian tourism. So to conclude, avoid this, find other accommodation and...
