Beach Kostanj — Attraction in Grad Rijeka

Beach for people with disabilities. Located between Hilton hotel and Preluka beach. Narrow access to the parking means you need to be patient and slowly approach the area with pedestrians walking on the same road. If you do not have the "disabled person" parking sticker / approval, it is better to park on the macadam extension located aprox. 50 meters b4 the beach itself. Parking control will swiftly fine you if you park just above the beach with no sticker/approval. Keep an eye on the signs. Once on the beach people are friendly with one assigned lifeguard/person ready to help you at any time. Avoid weekend afternoons as the beach tends to fill up with "common folks" looking for their place under the sun. Parking for disabled was filled with regular cars without signs for disabled. I even saw two young women walking from their car down to the beach. There are tens of other beaches around, but still you can find enough ignorant people here, to make that one beach, that should be available for disabled, unreachable.
