If you are visiting Solta as one of the many islands in the area, I'd recommend visiting Tvrdic Honey to meet the amazing Goran and Natasha, as Goran will tell you so many interesting things about bees, they have been making honey for three generations and the passion Goran has for it, is amazing! They also allow you make your own sometimes, you will not regret coming to find this place.

If you are looking for a place to stay, I've upload a picture as the views and the island in general is beautiful, the "farm" has lots of Olive trees and the like, they also have a pool as it gets pretty hot on the island!

The apartments are all furnished and styled as Natasha by themselves as if they lived in there, so for your stay, you do get a feel of home, myself and my partner stayed for 10 days and we didn't want to leave in the end, hence we are organising to come back next year.

Goran and Natasha are better than the perfect hosts, they went above and beyond constantly, and they made this holiday with my girlfriend, the best we've ever had, I can't say enough good things about it.

They will also tell you places to go on the island and if you want to go to Split, Goran will pick you up from the ferry if you need him too.

I am going to update the Solta map as it is a bit outdated, but for stuff in the area, there's a few things in Grohote which is 10 minutes away. These are a small Konoba which is like a little restaurant for locals, there's an ATM (there are 3 on the island, works for international money withdrawal), a supermarket for supplies for the apartment, 2 coffee places, a bar that opens late. You can also walk into Rogac which is a 40 minute walk, or there are buses to visit the rest of the island, but Natasha and Goran can tell you about this.

Basically, if you are thinking of visiting Solta, you need to come here, if you are thinking of staying on Solta, you need to try...

We were pRt of a large group cycling over the mountains and we stopped and received an amazing and very entertaining lecture about honey bees from the owner of this honey farm. He was wonderful. And his products are top quality. One stand out was the propolis spray it's great on sore throats and insects bites it actually works very well! Really eased my sore throat and stopped the itch on my wife's insect bite. One warning it does stain cloth and leave a washable red orange tint on skin it's applied to. But otherwise this stuff is great ask the staff at the shopping for other ideas on...

I've seen reviews saying if you go to Solta then visit Goran and his bees, but I'd say you should go to Solta just to visit! Goran accommodated 7 of us for a private tour on his day off and shared his passion for bees with us. He told us about the dangers bees face and let us try fresh pollen, as well as their other produce which we bought after the tour. He met us off the ferry in Rogac and drove us to the shop and farm, as well as showing us a beautiful restaurant by the sea and organising a tour with his friend at Olynthia on the island. Definitely the highlight of my...

Great place to visit to learn all about bees and honey making on Šolta. Also great honey to try and buy if you wish. This family has a long tradition in honey making and it shows in the quality of their products. Regarding Tatyana Galagan's negative review below. I don't agree with her, we found the place easily with Google maps. Yes, they close from noon to 5 but if she had done her homework and checked online prior (like we did) she wouldn't have had any issues. I understand why they close, because at this time it's the hottest part of the day!

The tour itself was a delightful and enlightening experience. Goran and his wife Nataša are the embodiment of passion and knowledge when it comes to beekeeping. With three generations of honey-making under their belt, the stories and insights they shared were both fascinating and heartwarming. As a fellow beekeeper, I found a kindred spirit in Goran. Our discussions were rich and engaging, and he generously offered to stay in touch, extending his expertise for any future bee-related queries or challenges I might face.

Do not recommend this place. Dont spend your time they do not carry about their customers! To buy local honey we spend for a trip about 2 hours plus 20 minutes by feet took a road inside the village (really not easy to find) and once we found the house, we saw the sign CLOSED and non-working hours from 12 till 17. Nobody came to our request! ( we saw people in the garden). At the end we just bought honey at the supermarket and enjoyed wonderful wine degustation at Kastelanc
