Holiday house Villa Giove Šolta — Hotel in Općina Šolta

There were 2 families with 4 kids aged 11, 11, 12 and 14. We all had a fabulous week at Villa Giove. The villa is brilliant - lovely outdoor pool area and table where we spent almost all of our time. The gardens are well maintained, and also table tennis and basket ball hoop helped keep the kids entertained. Upstairs the 4 bedrooms are very even, with excellent air con and shutters. Beds very comfy - we all slept so well in the cool, dark rooms even though it was 36 degrees outside. The location is central to the island and supermarket and handy for day trips to different beaches on island via bus or via taxi. We went to a great restaurant 5 mins walk away. Be aware not a great deal in the way of bars and restaurants in walking distance - you will need either a car or take a taxi - but nowhere is more than a 15 min taxi ride on the island. There is a school AstroTurf opposite the villa, the kids played football there every evening and just joined in with the local kids. The owners Kruno and Ivana couldn't do enough for us. They shopped for us when we arrived on a public holiday and the supermarkets were all closed. They organised good-value transfers for us from Split (half the price of a taxi) and very helpful when we accidentally left items in wardrobe and taxi on last day. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. Rooms were spacious and spotless. The children and adults loved the pool and had a beautiful garden. The barbeque area was also lovely and enjoyed evenings cooking outside with the wonderful local produce.

The house is easy walking distance to the shops and had a great local restaurant which served delicious food. It was easy to get around the island either through taxi or buses and easy to get out and enjoy day trips to either Split, snorkeling boat trips or visiting the local beaches. There were also local walking trails if you wanted to get out...

We had a great stay at Villa Giove. Both Ivana and Kruno were super helpful in advance, organising boat and taxi transfers. The place was just as described and they laid on a welcome pack on arrival. The pool and garden are beautiful with 2 outdoor dining tables and a grill. The setting is so peaceful and calm with a view out to the countryside. Huge parasols for afternoon shade and great loungers. The house is a 3 min walk to local shops and a fabulous local restaurant. Ivana and Kruno were very responsive with any questions we had, suggesting restaurants and local services. We had a wonderful time....
