Following the advice of our friend, we visited the Olive Museum after touring Klis Castle, since admission for both is included in a single ticket. Not only did we learn some very important things about Olive Oil (maybe the only information I’ve ever retained from an actual museum tour), we were in for a totally unexpected treat when we visited their on-campus village for lunch. First of all, the village itself was romantic and beautiful. You have to see it to believe it. My wife instantly said, “I want to live here!” The staff were warm & welcoming, and the lunch menu was an EXCELLENT value for the meal & experience. The Mediterranean Gold is now my all-time favorite cocktail, and we’ll never forget their pillow-soft gnocchi. At the end, the Olive Museum and Stella Croatica team earned a place in our hearts, and the visit ended up being one of our Top 5 memories from our first trip to Croatia. We would do it again and...
Read moreGreat vacation activity! We visited the Klis Fortress and the visit to the Olive Museum was included in the tickets for the fortress (10 Euros per person). The staff was super friendly and the tour through the museum and manufacture was roughly 25 minutes long and in English. We learned a lot of interesting facts and also were able to try a lot of their products. The price of 10 Euros for a visit to the fortress and the Olive Museum is absolutely reasonable. They have a nice botanical garden and a traditional Dalmatian Tavern. The food was delicious and nowhere else we were able to find anything like it. Again I would highly recommend this, we were very positively surprised by this one of a...
Read moreIf you’re planning to visit Klis Fortress, I’d strongly recommend visiting the Olive Museum as well. The entry ticket includes both attractions for €10. Be sure to check their closing times before planning your visit, as they change each season.
We had an amazing time on the olive oil tasting tour. The lady at the reception was lovely, and our tour guide explained all the facts, not only about the olive oil-making process but also about the process for lavender products. You could also taste Croatian sweets, dips and honey and try their lavender oil and cream products. Unfortunately, we didnt get a chance to try the restaurant as they were closing at 3pm.
