Rimska palača — Attraction in Općina Mljet

Surprisingly well preserved ruins from roman times, considering they were uninhabited and left without care. You can see few high walls of a large palace and a round tower where locals park their cars. Would be nice to see the existing parts repaired and refilled the fallen rocks. The name of the village Polača comes...

Is an interesting place but not much to see, when I was there, there was some cars parked so.. for me it wasn't so nice.. By the way, the structure still being interesting, if you wanna see it I recommend you go to the beach that is just next to the ruins...

Ieri 31 luglio 2024 eravamo a Mliet, abbiamo fatto il giro del Parco Naturale. Tornando al porto di Polace siamo passati davanti alle rovine romane: lì dentro, chiuso tra le macerie, c'era un cagnolino nero che abbaiava e cercava, invano, di uscire. Era chiaramente rinchiuso lì da molto tempo, circondato da rifiuti. Io ho chiamato un Ranger del parco, che si è rifiutato di intervenire per aiutare il cane, dicendomi addirittura che conosceva il " padrone" e che non vi era nulla di anomalo o di illegale.
