Toreta Winery, RESERVATIONS ONLY — Attraction in Općina Smokvica

This place made our whole trip to Korcula. We’d been fairly disappointed with our Korcula experience up until tonight when this winery was willing to let us come in and do a FREE tasting of 5 fantastic wines and their absolutely delicious olive oil. We seriously could not believe our luck that they were willing to stay an HOUR late to explain the wines and olive oil process and crops. The owner was truly amazing and sooo sooo nice. We thoroughly enjoyed each wine while sitting on their beautiful patio and looking at the stunning views. We had tried one other winery before deciding last minute to see if we could get a tasting here and the experience was NIGHT AND DAY different. So if you are anywhere near this area you seriously have to come here and try their wine and olive oil. I cannot say enough good things about it. And I am from a town that primarily makes wine. This was hands down a nicer experience than I’ve had in so long. We left with a couple bottles of wine and some delicious olive oil to bring back to Canada with us. We had a quick stop as the kids were sleeping in the car and we only wanted to buy some wine to carry home with us but the owners were adament we should try some first and served us with all the wines that they are producing. We spend only half on hour with them but it was one of the best quick wine tasting we had. Ended up by buying two cases of Posip and sur lie which turned out excellent. Really enjoyed the welcome considering we just stoped on the way home. Next time we hope to spend more time but if you are passing through Smokvica you will not regret visiting...

My boyfriend and I went to the village because we heard they had great wine. We then came upon Toreta winery. Best coming across we could’ve made! The owner greeted us super welcoming. We sat on the terrace looking through the wine hills and she served us all of their wines to taste (for free!)… she did a great job explaining them and it was super nice how she told us about how she and her husband make the wine and their family’s history! Of course we bought a couple of bottles to take home If we’re ever on korcuka again we definitely will come back to...
