Always a pleasure to visit here. Cats are very well looked after with adoption available and sponsors for those who wish to seek regular correspondence on a cat of their choice and even possible to name one if not already named for a small fee. There are several volunteers who work very hard to maintain the property and keep the cats healthy, spayed and contented with a range of toys houses and play areas. It is heartbreaking to see how people abuse these cats but really great to see that those at the cat park love and care for them. A separate area for kittens and main houses for the cats with lots of separate areas for the cats to rest and sleep are really great for the cats to come and go. Great for the family and especially children. We visit everytime and bring at least two big bags of food and a donation. Cat dreamies are always a favourite of certain cats and you can always find that several will follow you around the whole compound if you bring some. Wet food is especially a welcome donation. A great morning out with friendly informative staff, a must...
Read moreWhat they do for the cats is amazing. Rather an impersonal meeting though with you having to find Dawn to open discussions. I understand she's busy however she looks rather uninterested in her visitors, her donors. Sadly this catpark lost a sponsorship because a lady volunteer said that young cats couldn't be sponsored. They then took a sponsorship for that cat the very next day. We went with the aim to sponsor any cat, just to hand over €50 but were highly disgruntled and left without sponsoring.
My partner was prepared to take the same cat back to the UK and made the sanctuary aware only to discover later via social media, they'd given it to someone else. That person lost interest when the cat got poorly and it was promptly returned.
So it turns out that the owners of this sanctuary don't recognise when they're onto something good because they haven't the time or the interest and so they've lost out. Aside from that, they do a great job with the cats they have.
A definite must for any cat lover, be prepared for lots of love and affection. (5 stars...
Read moreThis has easily been one of the highlights of my visit to Paphos. Not knowing what to expect upon arrival, when I saw the cats through the wire fence looking out expectantly, I already knew this was going to be a special place. Some cats start walking towards you as soon as you've parked your car, but not all of them are starving for attention and there were plenty perfectly content to lie around on their sofas in the sun. The park itself is full of cats, but it's not chaotic. They have a wide array of plots to spread out in, and each plot is uniquely accessorized. The volunteers are clearly very dedicated to their work, and watching them and the other visitors loving the cats was exceedingly uplifting. Would someone who's not a cat lover be able to relate to and appreciate a place like this cat sanctuary? Maybe, maybe not. But anyone with even the slightest affinity for cats cannot visit Paphos and leave without...
