Either way it is "off the beaten track" close to civilisation experience. The local botanical garden also presents an interesting spot for nature and science lovers. If you opt for walking the winding trail up the hills just be sure to be properly equipped. A pair of mountain/sport shoes, heat and sun protection suite (a cap, sun-block cream and some water as it can get really hot from May to late October) would not go amiss. Read moreAwesomeness. If you're willing to drive past lara beach, there's wicked loads of secluded beaches to be had all to yourself. Her nibs got rid of the bikini triangles a little too. A 4x4 is recommended by the local guides but we did it in a regulated car. Provided you keep your eyes open and speed down you'll be fine. Take a picnic, shade, plenty of water and your swimmers. This place is a must for all those who want away from people and submersion into the wilds (but not too wild). There are Loads of walks, plenty of flora and fauna, photo Ops in abundance and things to learn. We got to help release turtle hatchlings into the sea, which made our trip. Only locals, quad bikes and adventurers travel past lara beach; take your holibobs by the sack, down that pint of man up and experience some nature....
