If you're a wine lover looking for an unforgettable experience, Ayia Mavri Winery is an absolute gem. Nestled in a beautiful, serene setting, this winery offers more than just a selection of wines ā it offers a true taste of craftsmanship and tradition.
The highlight of our visit was a personal tour with the owner, who clearly has an immense passion for winemaking. His knowledge of the process, the history of the vineyard, and the unique characteristics of each wine was both informative and captivating. Itās evident that every bottle produced at Ayia Mavri is the result of years of expertise and care.
As for the wines, they are simply delicious. Each sip felt like a perfect blend of tradition and quality. Among their exceptional offerings, I highly recommend the Commandaria that really stole the show for me. Itās a standout, and we couldnāt resist picking up a bottle to take home.
If you are looking for a wonderful experience, I highly recommend a visit to Ayia Mavri Winery. You'll leave with not only a great bottle of wine but also a deep appreciation for the passion and history behind it. A must-see for anyone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSeeing so many positive reviews about the wine, hosts, etc. Unfortunately we had a different experience. No wine bar, no outdoor terrace, no cheese, bread, not even water given for the tasting. Not talking about not giving clean glass for white, red or zivania. Kind of old school atmosphere. There was a group of tourists already tasting and seemed the hosts couldnt really handle the situation having 2 more visitos as extra. We said no problem, we are not interested in the tour, just want to have the tasting. One lady came and brought me a sip of wine as the 1st sample, but after that she disappeared and then none inside had an idea what we are doing there. In the meantime the group left, then the hosts cleaned up and none really paid attention to us. I had to go in myself and ask someone to pour the next sample of wine (without any explanation). Each time I found a different person who had no idea what I am doing there, what sample I had already....ah. So we felt very uncomfortable, so just paid and left without finishing the 6 tasting. The...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDecided to take a drive here completely randomly. Was about an hour away from where we were staying but decided to anyway as it was pretty much the only one thatās open on a Sunday.
When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady who turned out to be the owner of the vineyard.
She showed us around even down in the chilled cellar where they store the wines before shipping. They even had the cedar oak barrels which are like ā¬1000 euros. She was full of information, she showed us their awards which were huge including awards from France, Germany.
This little place is in the middle of nowhere and if your not looking for it you will drive right past it.
The wines are absolutely beautiful, great hosts with the wine tasting and little bits of bread and cheese to have too. For something to kill the time for an hour or so itās defo worth a little look. You could probably do a little walk afterwards but we decided not too as the temps went...
