I came to the place for a tour and tasting. I was greeted by the place's owner, a winemaker who he and his father founded the business about thirty years ago and ran as a local family winery. The tour was fascinating and explained in fluent and pleasant English. Ficardo is a young and intelligent man who explained and answered every question with a smile and very pleasantly. Read moreThis is located in an industrial site, so very far from pretty or atmospheric. The lad was lovely but we were not educated on how to taste wine. We were given no information about the different grapes used, or the flavour notes to discern, nothing about aromas, colours, depth, body etc. or any history of the wines. We missed the production season by 2 weeks so we were unable to see any of the grapes or processes. We were taken on a tour by Mr Fikardos himself, and had the opportunity to taste a huge selection of wines (even buying 4 bottles to take back with us after being blown away). All wines are made 100% locally or using specific grapes to make Chardonnay, Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon and it is a family owned business which gives off a very warm and inviting feeling!
