Ski Resort Olešnice in Moravia — Attraction in okres Blansko

Can get pretty crowded on public holidays and weekends. Sufficient snowmaking but there appears to be a snowless point in the middle of the slope every time it warms up. Good on site restaurant and rental shop, altho they suffer from the overcrowding as much as the lifts do. The lifts, one single person poma and one double person T bar are good enough. Parking is unmaintained and can get muddy, as you’re parking on an unmarked field. Be careful coming into the area by car too, as it gets tight and narrow in some places. Otherwise its great for beginners and good enough for the price and distance compared to bigger resorts. So we decided to go to olesnice since it's quite a drive to the mountains with better skiing. We arrived and rented out the equipment for a reasonable price. The lady who rented the equipment was nice and helpful. We bought the 10 pack each after which we headed to the lift. We visited just before the school holidays started so the que was virtually non existent. This is where I get into my rant, the lift only had the surface lift type with the "disk" and "anchor" and oh boy that was a struggle. They were hard to get on and very uncomfortable, on top of that the staff servicing the lift didn't do anything to help they just kind of floated there. Fortunately the weather was great (around -7). Close to Brno which makes it a good location to ski over one day. Kids slopes are nice, you can book an instructor for kids, too. In weekends it’s a bit overcrowded with long wait for lifts. One star review is given to a ski rental. Long wait and not polite communication. We stayed in line twice, because ski boots were not regulated well to skies and easily fell out. Young man sent us out to stay in line and wait again saying he will call us in to solve the problem.
