Janov Observation Tower — Attraction in okres Děčín

Is a very nice place to visit if you're in the area. The tower is quite tall and open. It's also a cell tower and the very top few levels are thus inaccessible. You can see 360 degrees from the viewing platform. It has information plates with photos telling you what you're looking at. You are able to see as far as Germany, that's actually very close, and to Labe River and České středohoří on the other side. You can see Pravčická brána, famous rock arch formation. You'll need binoculars for it but then you could see even the buildings attached to the side of the rock wall. The tower is on touristic path for both...

An amazing experience to have. If you want to get up, you need to climb up a metal spiral staircase. For some reason some of the railing was broken, but I'm sure they are working on it. I do not recommend coming up there if you are scared of heights. Once you come up there you realize that the tower actually has some movement due to the wind. But no need to worry , it will not fall down. When you're up there, you can get some amazing photos which is very nice. I do not recommend dropping your phone for obvious reasons 😂. Fun for a short stop if being in the area. Nice views from above. 160 steps to go up. Free entry. It's wobbly up there. Don't go if you have a fear of heights. Gotta love it. Funny to see how they've marked the bolts so they can verify if they haven't moved. Not sure what that says about them trusting their own construction.
