Castle Garden — Attraction in okres Mladá Boleslav

Počátky města Mnichovo Hradiště jsou spojeny s cisterciáckým klášterem, který byl na místě staroslovanského hradiště založen kolem roku 1143. V tomto městě narodil první skutečný český botanik Adam Zalužanský ze Zalužan. Nedaleko od starého zámku založil Arnošt Josef z Valdštejna v roce 1687 kapucínský klášter a zároveň zahájil přestavbu zámku podle návrhu architekta Marcantonia Canevalleho (1652–1711). V okolí sídla byla zřízena rozlehlá zahrada, kterou doplňovala řada drobných staveb. Významnou stavbou byla sala terrena, kterou postavil roku 1711 proti zámku stavitel Niccolo Raimondi. Celková barokní přestavba zámku byla dokončena do roku 1730. Celková rozloha zahradní úpravy a parku činí asi 7 hektarů.

The beginnings of the town of Mnichovo Hradiště are connected with the Cistercian monastery, which was founded in 1143 on the place of the Old Slavic fortifications. Zámecká zahrada je sice rozlehlá, ale strohá - převážně tráva a stromy*. Součástí areálu je i WC pro návštěvníky, za což dostává *. Bohužel je část zahrady vedoucí kolem zámku uzavřena oplocením, případně zde není dotažený chodníček až k zídce. Nepodíváte se tak od zdi zámeckého parku směrem k městu.
