We are attending Aquapalace regularly with my family. Positive comments and descriptions are true, let me give some negative - maybe it will help to improve facility a bit and help you protect nice day. I was there on Saturday with my younger son. First trouble is parking. Parking house was designed some two decades ago I guess. It means that with almost 5 m long car it is real challenge because of small radius of the ramps and dimensions of the parking spaces...finally no problem, I have experience from Prague, but problem is with other drivers and their passengers. Last two visits always means damaged car. Nothing serious but I do not want scratches on my bumper or doors because of really insufficient space . So this time I used outdoor parking, unfortunately it was raining all night so more than half of the parking was under quite deep water. OK, I found a place and got inside the park. What is the main problem that all visitors should be aware of, is system of wrist chips and organised abuse of it. First of all I got chip without proper strap. It was not keep closed and I had to fix it after every ride in the tube. After one ride I noticed that I lost it. I came to the lifeguards station and asked them if somebody found it. They showed me a full handful of chips and sent me to the cash desk to block chip before "somebody orders a Mojito on it"..the rest is obvious, I came to the cash desk, blocked the chip, got the new one - some 20 minutes at all...and when I was leaving Aquapalace in the evening - guess what? Yes you are right, Mojito XXL, plus deposit for bucket, plus another Mojito, plus some Ice Tea. Total CZK1700. So entrance for me and one kid CZK1800, parking CZK100, some our food, coffee, ice cream CZK600, ride from Prague...it is not cheap fun and this "extras" really hurts. I was really sad and upset. All good feelings from day spent with my son was gone. It was 9pm, we were very tired, I had no energy to call manager, security, police, check the CCTV, etc, so I paid the bill and went home. I guess that ordinary visitor who find chip do not abuse it immediately for such a purchase. I do not know if it is possible that there are some "gangs" on the weekends that looking for lost chips and immediately abuse it. According to what life guards said it was quite common situation - lost chip means you will pay Mojitas that you never see. I have no proof but I have a strange feelings that is something rotten out there...so basic is , check your chip and strap and if it is not absolutely OK, ask for new one. Do not lose it :-) and if you lose it run as fast as you can to the cash desk, block it and check if you have not some extras Mojitas ;-) Rest...
Read moreHotel was not good for many reasons, but the water park was fun. The big slides were too intense for my six year old, but not my 8 year old. Lifeguards watch from cameras but are not nearby to watch or jump in if needed. Parents really need to stay on top of their kids here. There were many different areas to explore.
I would recommend staying somewhere else and just coming for the day to the water park. The staff was so rude and unhelpful at the hotel, and the room so small for the price, that I would never consider staying there again or recommending it to others! We should have stayed in our AirBnB in Prague another night and just bought the family day pass since we ended up paying for an extra day anyway when we came early on check in day.
You wear a band that tracks your purchases inside, so everything can be left in a locker you lock with your band. Hair dryers are also available after you change.
I didn’t love that activities are extra fees (giant ball and paddle boats, for example), but I did like the vending machines for a quick snack or bottled beverage. There are many pools but none are very large. The wave pool is quite small. I like the couple of pool bars for drink breaks. Some pools are cold, as was the lazy River, and some pools are very warm, like the inside pool bar. You go back and forth between cold and hot all day.
The rapids are dangerous! I guess if you like near-drowning experiences you would call it “thrilling.” My husband got whiplash and banged his head in one of the tube slides. Maybe we are just getting too old for these things (late 30s). 🤣
The lazy river has a few sets of monkey bars which is cool and different than other parks. With other competitors that do it better, cheaper or with better lodging all-round, I wouldn’t vacation to...
Read moreAquapalace Prague is definitely a fun place, no doubt about it — but it’s not quite like other water parks across Europe. While it’s the largest water park in the Czech Republic, it still feels very different compared to parks abroad.
My favorite attraction is the spinning slide — it starts off steep, then you’re thrown into a big funnel where you spin around for a bit before dropping into a deep 3-meter pool. Super fun! My second favorite is the Wild River, which I believe is over 800 meters long. It begins like a classic blue indoor slide, but ends outside. Be warned though: the outdoor part is quite dangerous, especially for smaller kids. It’s marked 12+, but honestly, even for older visitors, it can be risky.
Aquapalace also features artificial waves — not bad, but nothing compared to what you’ll find in other countries, and definitely not like real ocean waves.
One thing I won’t forget is when my mom broke her collarbone on the “Zebra” ride. She and my dad were riding an inflatable together, and they flipped hard at the end — it wasn’t pretty. But to be fair, I don’t blame the water park for that… more my mom, for goofing around with my dad at fifty like she’s still twenty!
That said, Aquapalace Prague is far from a bad experience. There are diving courses, aquariums, lots of pools, an attached hotel, and a large kids’ zone right behind the wave pool, which makes it perfect for families with young children.
I also love the food options and the chip-based payment system — you can buy anything inside using a wristband and pay everything at once when you leave. Super convenient!
In my opinion, 4 out of 5 is the perfect rating. If you haven’t visited Aquapalace Prague yet, it definitely deserves at...
