Unfortunately, this Tivoli park is nothing in comparison to the „original“ in Copenhagen. We went at the time of the Flower Festival (all of July until early August), so there were lots of floral decorations everywhere - without them, the small park probably only look half as nice. The rides are mostly for kids, not so interesting for adults except for Cobra and Skytower. If you want to go on the rides, it is best to buy one of the wristbands where this is included. Buying the single tickets, „Tivoletter“, when you want to ride spontaneously, is only possible at the info desk at the entrance (in the Copenhagen Tivoli, there are machines where you can buy this throughout the park). Also, we were quite disappointed that a park like this, frequented by international tourists, only offers 2 payment methods everywhere (cash and Danish-only MobilePay), and credit cards not accepted except to pay the entrance fee. If you come without cash, there are NO cashpoints anywhere - it took us one whole round around the park to discover this. You can only get cash at the info desk from the clerk with his card reader (but this is not signposted anywhere, you need to ask). When we finally had cash, we only bought some food (untasty burger, cold fries, flat Pepsi) and then only felt like leaving. So all in all, the park is nice-looking, with lots of photo ops, but if you don‘t have your own food or cash, it is not...
Read moreWe recently spent a fun-filled day at Tivoli Friheden in Aarhus during the Halloween 🎃 week, and it’s a perfect destination for families looking for excitement and entertainment.
The park offers a great variety of attractions for all ages. Our little one loved the kiddie rides and playground areas, while the older family members enjoyed the thrill rides like Hjertekig and Cobra. The park is well-organized, and the staff are friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
One of the highlights was Sky Tower, a free-fall experience that’s not for the faint of heart but was an absolute thrill! We also appreciated the park’s scenic areas and green spaces, which provided a nice place to relax and have a break between rides.
The dining options were surprisingly diverse for a theme park, with everything from classic fast food to cafes with healthier choices. We enjoyed a lovely meal at one of the outdoor seating areas, which had a great view of the park.
We spent about five hours there and felt like we could have stayed even longer. Overall, Tivoli Friheden offers a wonderful blend of thrills and family-friendly attractions, making it a must-visit when in Aarhus. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a fun day out!
We stayed there from 10 AM all the way until the closing...
Read moreWent here with a couple of friends a few days ago, and it turned out to be really fun! I haven't been to a theme park since I was 5, because I was too scared to go on roller coasters because I just hated them but I decided to go here, and I ended up loving it! The place has quite a good transition from easy to moderate roller coasters, which was great! The theme park also has a lot of different rides and also fun games like go karts and such. The climbing area is also very extensive, and I like how very adrenaline rushed rides are combined with very calm rides like the boat ride in the pictures! The only thing I'd change is to add 1 or 2 rides that help go from moderate intensity to hard, as id say the ride difficulty goes something like this: the grasshopper, then the bee one, the dragon, typhoon, and then directly to their new ride that goes 78 km/h and has a loop and inversion! Still liked it though, but it took a lot of convincing to get on (this wasn't a problem just with roller coasters, but also with other rides, going from piraten to himmelrum. Of course that's how it is in most places so I'm not complaining, and the transitions and options were still very extensive. (Food was also quite pricey, but the staff is very kind). Hope you enjoy this place as...
