Gavnø castle — Attraction in Naestved Municipality

By far one of the most beautiful places in Denmark. Simply amazing. Not only is this the whole Gavnø area isolated and protected, but it bursts with life in the spring. They have an incredible tulip display and the entrance road is covered with japanese cherry blossom trees, making the whole visit magical. Also meine Freundin und ich haben einen Ausflug mit einem Reisebus hierher gemacht und das für einen Tag. Mit der Fähre ging es von Rostock nach Gedser, was durch das herrliche Wetter schön schön war. Am 1. und 2. Wochenende findet auf dem Areal des Schlosses ein Weihnachtsmarkt statt mit vielen Ständen und Angeboten. Es ist weihnachtlich geschmückt und es gibt viel zu schauen und zu kaufen. Auch kann man mit Euro bezahlen. Wunderschön ist auch der herbstliche Schlosspark sowie die Schlosskapelle. Im Schloss selber kann man einige Räume besichtigen, die das Wohnen der einstigen Bewohner wiederspiegeln. Da wir für November super sonniges Wetter hatten, macht so ein Ausflug wirklich Spaß. Friendly staff and nice surroundings. The entry fee is however too pricy. 160 DKK to enter a park and watch some old paintings is a bit dissapointing. Would have expected to see the whole castle, but only a small part of it is open...
