When you think of luxury coastline, cozy harbors, and seawater of the most fantastic shades, maybe Cap Cana is on the top of the list. It is true to think that you cannot beat Juanillo Beach or Playa Blanca...however, there is other free options that compete with some of the paradise beaches. Well, that is the case of the public beach Bayahibe beach, yes, it is real. Home to vasts palm-lined beach tranquil coral reefs, and surrounded by several top-tier exclusive and super-exclusive hotels, it’s no wonder why Bayahibe is one of the Dominican Republic’s most popular beach destination for locals and tourists. Bayahibe beach amenities combine convenience and Caribbean culture with an impressive range of activities across its expansive coastline. Bayahibe Beach is the not the quietest beach among all I’ve visited on DR, but it is lovely fun. It is located on the east area of DR. Visitors will find a very clean water with fine-grained sand, and believe me water is extremely crystal clear. Other local beaches offer warmth of the sun, crystal clear water, soft sand underfoot, sound of the waves, water sports, and so on...Bayahibe Beach offers that and above, you can enjoy and capture in your memory a beautiful shot of heaven, with an exclusively unique ambience which make the beach different from other local destinations. There are a lot of activities for those who like active rest — from water sports to crowded clubs. Bayahibe looks completely different depending the time. During the day, it is a quiet, cozy, and a traditional place, but after dark, you get to the center of the fun, music, and endless parties. Anyway, versatility is another feature that makes Bayahibe is one of the best beaches in the world. This is a perfect exclusive destination and also a great place for secluded vacation or vacation with children. My preferred beach in the eastern area of DR period... located at forty-five minutes from the Punta Cana airport, this small beach has some folkloric restaurants serving at the beach. This public beach is a treasure on the Eastern area, with a paradise breathtaking view that is absolutely stunning. From the first minute you arrive, you can enjoy not only from the outstanding peaceful ambience however locals could be a little aggressive from the service standpoint. Hostess, waiters and staff offer chairs, tables, and overpriced menus, however most of them are amazing and friendly. I can tell you that will enjoy not just the beautiful view and peaceful ambiance but that your soul is going to enjoy one of the best experience in the whole Dominican Republic. There're some beaches that deserve 5 stars, but Bayahibe is at another level of excellence. You can take a break of your boring vacation travel days or simply have a romantic date, and enjoy this magical experience....then it is definitely very HIGH RECOMMENDED...you...

A good public beach, if you sunbathe between the place where the boat parking ends and the place where the public beach begins, for example, opposite the blue&white house - then you will lie in privacy, almost)) Also we swam not on the public beach itself inside the fenced-off territory, but to the left of it. It's very cool to swim there with a mask because there are corals with fish near the shore and there is a place where starfishes live. Water is calm, during 3 weeks there were waves maybe 2 times when the weather was windy.

P.S. A fruit cart is passing along the beach - do not buy there, they sell 2 times more expensive than in a fruit shop in the town, it's better to take fruits with you)

P.P.S. Don't lift the starfishes above the water for longer than 5 seconds, they may die from this as they inhale too much oxygen on land. By the way, in the Dominicana it's forbidden by law to lift starfishes out of the water, that's why I took the photo very quickly...

Stayed at DREAMS LA ROMANA, LOVED IT!!!! i walked down to the beach and over to the public beach!!! We had preferred rooms and all inclusive but i wanted a fried whole snapper with tostones, made by my local people not the resorts! Omg it was the best !! And the freshest possible !! I stayed 9 days and went every single day, to get my fried pargo...They were cool down to earth of course they tried to persuade me to buy from there store fronts but i helped at least 6 stores out and a bought a little sumthin from each!! But the fish was from the last booth!!older man, they waited for me everyday to come eat!!! And booth 4 caramelo chocolate lol what he said to call him took us to buy ciggs about 4 different times on his pasola (motorcycle) better then paying 10$ in the resorts smh ripping people off! Just gave him few dollars for the favor even tho he didn't expect it!!! I will DEFINITELY will return soon to see all my friends i made within all the shops...

This is a disgusting beach filled aggressive men begging or demanding money. It is littered with trash from the local people. This end of the beach has huge boulders both above and under the water. I broke my toe trying to enter the water. We were told we couldn't leave before 4 pm or it would cost us 70.00 each to get a ride back to the cruise terminal. We were told how many bottles of water we were going to buy. Our taxi driver even took pictures of our group before we were allowed to leave his van. It was an awful experience.
