What an absolute gem! Salto de Jima (Jima Falls) is a truly beautiful natural escape that exceeded all my expectations.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless. Parking was incredibly easy to access, which is always a huge plus when visiting natural attractions. The convenience alone set a great tone for our visit.
The walk to the falls was a delightful adventure in itself. It's a short, easy 25-minute stroll that takes you through some of the most beautiful natural views. Every turn offered another picturesque scene, with lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature surrounding us. It truly felt like a refreshing immersion into the wild.
Upon reaching the falls, the sight was breathtaking. The water is pristine and inviting, perfect for a refreshing dip after the walk. What truly stood out, however, was the friendly staff. They were welcoming and helpful, making sure everyone felt comfortable and informed. Their presence added to the overall positive and safe atmosphere of the place.
Salto de Jima is a must-visit for anyone looking for an accessible, stunning natural wonder with fantastic amenities and a welcoming vibe. I can't...
Read moreThe Hispanola island is rich of beautiful landscape with rual rivers and waterfalls. The Jima is one of these rivers, which is coming from the mountains of the central cordilleras of the main island. The northern part is situated with the regular landscape full of agriculture for tropical fruits. The hills and mountains are still empty and wild, but the locals find the beautiful places, like this waterfall. The access from the central autopista is with an about 5min ride into the mountains on a road with good conditions. To find the right access is a little bit complicate, you need follow your gps-map very carefully. The landscape park with the waterfall has an entry fee of approx. 100 pesos per person plus the guide. The walkway is not so easy but during normal days it's like a walk in the botanical garden. After 30 min walking you get the spectacular view of the waterfall. Yes, you can have a fresh bath inside the natural pool. Also one thing all the locals love too...

Sad that people have to throw their trash on the ground when both garbage and recycle bins are available at the beginning of the trail. The nice guy who watches the parking lot told me it would be about two weeks before the bridge is open again. Anyone want to volunteer a day with me to pick up all the trash? I will provide the bags and remove them to a...
